how to clean and disinfect kid's toys

i had a lot of people ask me how i clean my son's toys after i put it on my instagram story/snapchat, so here's a walk through on how i clean both his hard, plastic toys, as well as soft, plush or battery operated toys. all you need is some disinfectant cleaner (i love lemon-scented lysol- not sponsored), some heat proof dishwasher gloves (you want REALLY HOT water!), a sink or tub, towels and wash clothes, and a coriander can be very useful. hope you enjoy this video! xoxo

Few issues. Don't forget the proper disinfection requires dwell time. That is according to the product label. Rinsing is always recommended for mouth toys.

I would LOVE to see a day in the life with a new baby and a toddler! I'm going to be in the same situation in July when my baby girl gets here- and even if it's not a good routine you will stick to I would love to see a sample routine of how you do things! 💗

Good method with the colander. Just a caution, Lysol is meant to be rinsed off after sitting on surfaces of toys and anything that could be put in the mouth, and food prep areas.

Tip: instead of lysol you can use some vinegar and blue dawn soap. Better for the environment, and it smells less like chemicals! Edit: You also don't need to wear gloves this way.

Dawn soap or whatever brand soap still has chemicals. Pregnant or not gloves should be taken in mind its not a vanity thing, its a safety thing. Regardless the situation when cleaning gloves should be worn. Some ppl can have allergic reactions to vinegar too, too much in excess is not good for the skin, etc so wear gloves!

She is still getting the Lysol chemicals. It takes 20mins after you are exposed to a chemical for that chemical to be found in every organ in your body. If you have to wear gloves to use it no amount of rinsing is going to make it safe for the baby. www.annkuhns.norwex.biz.

Cleaning with a citrus based, even non-toxic cleaner is way safer and better to breath in than Lysol or Clorox for that matter, and it also kills germs better. I used to spray vinegar on random things in the living room and didn't have to worry about in-toxicating anyone or anything.

Oh God why would you use Lysol. Your kids are going to be sticking those things in their mouth. You should use something that will disinfect and be safe for them like hydrogen peroxide or baking soda or peppermint oil. Really got to think about the chemicals that you're exposing your family too

Until someone has a minor salmonella or e. coli infection, spreads it onto the toys, and the toys infect a child. Not cleaning things is an old school approach. There are bacteria and fungal spores that can put a completely healthy child who has a strong immune system in the ER.
