Just Tried out your style and cooked for my parents! They absolutely loved it, my dad is a fisherman and had a couple of whole ones in the freezer they were unfamiliar with the style since we are Cuban, they were really impressed at how tasty it was! Their favorite part was eating the vegetables inside!

Being born and raised on the coast of Maine and I mean on the coast I have cooked whole fish my whole life. I am looking for some different flavors and my African caregiver wants me to teach her this week how to cook whole fish. I guess her brother burns them so I'm going to give her a couple of ways to cook them beautifully juicy and tender. :-). Thankfully she has pre cleaned frozen fish. She is bringing her daughter too help me cooking as well so she can learn I am making a Crock-Pot meal and then teaching the mother the fish but the daughter is going to be the Hands-On fish person and I adopted her children as my grandchildren. :-)

It’s Greek style y’all! Jokes aside I’m gonna be making this tonight with a big copper rockfish I caught yesterday. I’m not gonna be using onion or pesto, instead I’ll be adding white wine vinegar and some diced jalapeño. Gonna have some Spanish rice on the side.

It's a good idea to bleed the fish before you ice it or at least run your finger up the inside upper ribcage to release the coagulated blood. Reason for this is that the blood adds a bad bad flavor

I tried it and yes it came out reasonable however I noticed she didn't put the rosemary but another herb and as someone mentioned in other commitments basil Pesto is Italian, so this is not a Greek recipe. Oh and I also noticed that she did not have the opportunity to sample the fish herself yet she concluded the video with it was a great meal. Or was it?

Not Greek style, more Italian maybe, but looks like a good recipe. No tomatoes in Greek fish, no pesto or basel. Oregano, lemon, olive oil, salt, is Greek. Side of boiled dandelions with oil & lemon or tomato salad on side. Less is more.

Nice job demonstrating how to clean & prepare the fish (but you did forget to mention bleeding the fish if needed) for the oven. But THERE IS NOTHING "GREEK STYLE" ABOUT THIS!! Where are you located? I've been preparing and cooking fish for more than 40 years. I lived in Italy for several years. I lived with a Greek man for several years. WT? The classic Greek Style would be: garlic, lemons, oregano, flat parsley, sumac if available and olives. GOOD GRIEF - "basil pesto" is from Genova, ITALY and it's NEVER found in Greek cuisine. FURTHER: What you put in the dish in the video contradicts what is stated, e.g. she states she's adding just a "little onion" because her man there "loves onions in everything," but the presented finished dish has a LARGE quantity of onions on it. Flat parsley is shown but not mentioned. Sorry, but I studied at a Culinary Institute and these things are important. AND SADLY LACKING: is a demonstration on how to debone the fish upon serving. No matter what it taste like - fish dinner is a disaster if your dinner-guests are struggling to avoid fish bones in their mouth (trust me, I've been there -it's not pleasant.). it's nice start, but keep working on it.
