    Enjoying your channel here in the UK Drake. What are your knees made of! I see you on chequer plate and non-skid and mine hurt just viewing. Tough stuff you boat detailers are made from! Have a try with using de-mineralised water to help not leave streaks when u dilute any cleaners or Isopropanol etc. Cheers. P.S Idea for a video! like the Whaler 230 Dauntless, and her black rub rail refurbishing. Makes another great refresh to such nice boats. I did mine and looks the mutts nuts.

    Wow that engine room was immaculate before you cleaned it! Why do recreational boats have such horribly cramped engine rooms I work on a tugboat and they actually design them so there’s room to work on stuff, this engine room is a nightmare to work in you can’t even stand up!

    Thanks for the awesome video! Question: do you plan on making a video of how to clean INSIDE an outboard engine? I know NOT to spray water in there, but would help to know the process a pro uses.     Thanks for all the tips! Is Woody wax all you need to keep engine parts from corroding? I see folks who spray other corrosion protectants all over the engines. Also any recommendations for a detail pro in Rhode Island? Thanks!

    A specific corrosion spray would be best, but it definitely helps slow down the corrosion process!

    What a crawl, my boat is old and the engine room is nothing like this shiny beauty, but I do have standing access with the floor opened up, I would never buy a boat with crawl only access. Thanks for all the tips, will check out the degreaser. I assume it’s non flammable type !

    hello, thanks for all this tips, now i have a question, you say not to use water on engine bay, i have a vandutch40 to clean, is all greassy and i was thinking about degreaser, brushed and after that presurewash, so what i do?

    I definitely wouldn’t use a pressure washer. Just soak it down with degreaser and get a ton of Terry cloth rags.

    I'm enjoying your videos, question. What did you use on the deck plates? I know it's a new sport fish, I'm running a 112' Westport and like my engine room to pop as well, in the past we scrubbed the deck plates then Mop n Golwed them, what are you using?

    I just wiped them with super clean, and applied the woody wax. Same as everything else

    It won’t burn off, and it will not collect grime. It will deflect grime from sticking to places that it shouldn’t be. That’s the whole point of it.😎

    I’m surprised a degreaser does not harm the wire PVC coating, ultimately leading to premature brittleness and failure.

    Easy when you can eat of that engine.. one of my hoses broke and created a huge mess of oil in my 42ft dual inboard, luckily it ran down the bilge but can I use light water to run off the excess oil on the motors?

    You would probably go through 30 plus rolls of paper towels for that. Plus they get so saturated with dirt and grime very quickly. Rags are much more practical, heavy duty, and economical!
