Guys there are many controversial videos on KZread....but trust me when I say @JaretCampisi knows what he’s talking about when in reference to bike riding and learning to ride. I loved bikes but was scared of getting into one and fulfilling my dream. Jaret helped me get the confidence and let me tell you there’s no other feeling like riding a motorcycle.

Been riding for about 16yrs now did the sport bike thing loved it but knew it was time for something different. I commute to work about 20min, and weekend rides with a few buddies one on a panigale V4S the other a 1299 lol. The stealth is awesome especially the DQS. 😉. Already have done some mods, more coming including some matte carbon of course. I'm 50yrs old fyi. 6feet 195lbs Cheers. Ps pumped to see your SP. Speaking of which thought for sure it was going to be Diavel for you but I certainly get why you're pulling trigger on the SP

Love the videos. I've been riding for 40+ years (I'm your fathers age) and a couple of things I've learned along the way. The 1st 600 miles for a new rider are the most dangerous. Why? After 300-400 miles you think you've got the new bike down and you tend to speed up. You get a real world lesson going around a corner and there is something in the road you either have to emergency brake for or avoid when hard over, you're going way too fast, and its crash time. Most common mistake for new riders. Take a motorcycle safety course BEFORE you buy the bike! Plus you typically get 15% off your insurance. The other thing you should emphasize (I realize you're in Ducati dealership, I own 2 Ducatis) is the cost of ownership and the ability to get the bike serviced. Ducatis are great motorcycles, but depending on where you live (I live in NJ) the dealers are few and far between. So just getting a Duc or a BMW to the shop can be a major pain especially (said Capt Obvious) if it is broken and un-rideable. A service pick up can run $150 each way. Oh and that's IF they pick up where you are located. Last, don't under or over power your first bike. If you're a wee little person then a 500cc bike is a good starter, but if you're a full sized man child then a 750cc really fits the bill, like a Yamaha FZ-07 or similar (they aren't crazy horsepower wise). Also go used for the 1st bike. This way when you drop it, and you will likely drop it, you won't cry over it. Drop a Ducati and you'll know what I mean. Good luck...

Really informative and 5 advanced riders pick 5 different bikes plus Christina as a beginner. Great vid Jaret and good promo for the shop as well. One thing folks should remember though. With different body types comes different inseams so saying 5'4" for 2 different people might be an entirely different fit or comfort level. Likewise with arms so don't discount a bike or include one based on another person's height.

Took an gsxs 750 out, loved the way it steered, very agressive, very fast, really sporty, but started out with a cb 600 hornet, because it's well so 'centered' great first bike. but will def grow to something like a gsxs, a streetfighter or maybe a hypermotard cause im tall.

As an intermediate biker, I'd say the first thing to consider is budget. Once I determined my biking style: commuter/street, I went with a used GS500. I think a low millage used JDM is a good way to go: easy to maintain, cheap to insure. They are also very easy to sell when you want to upgrade.

I want the Diavel 1260 S, just cant afford it at the moment. Black or Red would be my choice. I'd take the silver/grey one, but its my least liked color for this bike. Rode the 2017 Diavel Carbon and a 2018 Monster 821, and fell in love with the ride of the Diavel. Maybe this year I can figure out a way to work it so I can buy a Diavel 1260 S. Wont have anything left over to afford Termignoni or any other mods after but hopefully I can at least manage to get the bike. Never owned a sport bike, and they never had the biggest appeal to me for street riding. I commute, and I want to get out and do some nicer rides around San Diego county, like Palomar Mtn, etc. But that Panigale V2 you're building is gorgeous as well.

Personally, I think Jaret should have gone for the Diavel as he loved it so much when he test rode it and also, it turns heads. There are lots of sports bikes out there and unless you are knowledgeable about bikes, they are all just "sports bikes" but, with the Diavel, nothing looks like it.

I know this sounds backwards but its true . ALWAYS test ride to be sure but if you have blown lower disks you will find that a cruiser feels great to sit on but it quickly turns into extreme pain while riding .

Why you haven't driven the Multi 1260???... believe me it will change the way you think about it. The bike is aggresive. The other think I will suggest is to have a built series for the upcoming Multi V4. A lot parts can be at it...

I think people are a little too quick to negate a bike from their bubble of interest due to seat height and how their confidence of how planted there feet are when sitting on it and coming to stops etc. It’s a difficult skill to learn granted, sliding your ass over on the seat, only putting one foot down even then being on the ball of your feet and still being confident with the bike at a stop and pulling away. I’m only 5’8 on a good day and there’s yet to be a bike I haven’t been able to ride due to height, GS Adventures, Scrambler 1200XE’s and so on. With my job as a bike tech, there’s no excuse not to be able to test ride a bike so I’ve had to learn and fast, but it’s do able, but it’s a shame as most people won’t put themselves out there and try a bike instead of just cutting it straight away.
