I haven’t video about paints yet - but it’s in my plans. Basically - no matter with what colors you will start, the most important just start)) Coz when we do anything we can understand own needs better. But before the first attempt it’s really tricky to analyze what missed. Also - less colors from start is good coz it’s lead to color mixing practice. Like.... better to have red and blue and get violet by your self then just get violet in tube from start. Violet in tube have more clear color, but thrue mixing possible to learn important basics. But... I know beginners thinking “more colors for the best” and this is not really so....yea - I need to make video definitely!:)

chithu AJ Each tutorial I create taking a lot of time for cut and voice instructions. My comments, I believe, helping to understand painting process better and as result - helping to improve painting skills. But good quality needs time - voice for 1 hour video taking 2 hours as work - please understand this. So if tutorial going for 2 hours - it’s 4 hours of voice, 2 hours of painting it self, 2-3 hours of premier processing, also its 1-2 hours for sketch, thumbnail, key words.... all those support work that needs for KZread. Everything need for processing I do by my self also, so with same quality of tutorials I have now - I can do one in week. More then one means I have to cancel voice commenting and have to put just music on background.

Hi Kat, for the canvas pads how do I prime the paper for acrylics? By using acrylic gesso? Also if I tear the paper out , do I just tape it to the wooden easel board? Since I cant paint on table. Or do I just place the canvas pad on my easel? New to painting here :c

if you want to paint on paper on easel - you have to fix paper on wooden board with tape

Its a little bit thin - better to use 220 and thicker

Hi, there. I have a question. I tried thick watercolor paper with acrylics and I have the problem that the paint doesn't spread evenly and you can still see the paper beneath the paint. I didn't use much water. Do you know what I must be doing wrong?

It’s can be coz many reasons... I’d like to see the painting to be able to tell why it happened. What kind of paper (so many brands around..) thickness of it type of surface, acrylic you use for painting. If acrylic is soft body it’s give thin layer and it’s can be translucent depends on colors. How to fix - layering. Acrylic painting it’s mostly all about layering - and all main issues can be fixed with it. I rarely can create painting with 1-2 layers only - I paint with soft body. Only if I’m looking for transparent “watercolor-like” result. Paper... well - Surface or type of surface will be visible thru many layers of acrylic - if acrylic is soft. If acrylic is heavy - it’s give thick layer and possible to cover surface completely with palette knife - but I don’t like to do it on paper.. it’s too heavy for it. I like to paint with acrylic on paper - but usually it’s canvas textured (coz surface later will be visible) and if acrylic is soft - this way just need to paint same way as on canvas - do as much layers as need to create thick and well covered area. Soft type will turn to flat and thin layer anyway

@@PaintyKat Thank you so much for your fast response, paper I used is 220g,watercolor paper and acrilycs are of the brand Artist & Co, I don't know actually how heavy they are, but they don't speared on the paper easily. How can I send you the painting for you to see the last result?

No. This layer of white sometimes is helpfull - if we need to blend colors from the start

I used 300mg paper for painting acrylic, but the paper absorbs the paint and it bent. What should I do to keep it flat like yours?

Fix all four sides with tape

Put the drawing on a hard and even surface, and wet it from the other side considerably. You can spray it. Then put another heavy and even surface on top and leave overnight. You will have an even drawing afterwards.

Do we have to paint on smooth or rough surface of canvas sheet

Jemi GreenBabybird - INDIA It’s depends what and how you want to paint. Rough surface good for heavy brash strokes. It’s also can give some interesting visual effects... Smooth surface nice for small sizes - it’s give detailing more easy. But I can say you need to try both and make your choice. It’s really all about personal taste

I am having a problem with my acrylic paper. When I started to paint the paper start buckling. Please advise how will stop buckling of the paper. Thank you!

Buckling with water - normal quality of paper. Its phisical think. Square of wet getting bigger with water. If you fixing dry paper - all four sides - and then you will wet it - you ll get buckling. How to deal with it depend on what you need to. We fixing paper not to prevent buckling - we fixing to get flat painting in the end. Fix - dry - remove tape - and you will have flat paper even if thru the process you has some buckling. Possible to paint on fabric: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pHmVy7eLfKXRlbQ.html Its will prevent buckling in process but need more practice with it and its can be some issues with drying - coz fixing of wet paper is not easy thing also.

Is 300gsm is good for acrylic painting

it’s ok.:) My English have strong accent, true, as soon as it’s not my native and it’s hard to find someone to practice it better around here but I’m trying my best to explain painting techniques... I think if I will comment on my native (it’s good! No accent at all:D) it’s will be even less understandable:)
