    Hello! Im really interested in going to school for sonography. I’ve justttt started researching it and I came across your videos! (thank goodness, theyre so helpful ❤) I have a major question .. do sonographers deal with needles?? Im at 24:19 of your video and you just mentioned “drainage” .. my heart skipped a beat bc Im praying that theres a form of sonography that doesnt involve me pricking someone. Does echo or Vascular sonography deal with needles? Thanks! 😊

    Good luck, friend! I hope you stick to our podcast and my channel to help you on your journey! I don't typically deal with needles. The only reason why you'd need to if you're assisting with procedures. But other than that, we rarely use needles. You can work in doctors offices and clinics as well as hopsitals where you don't need to use needles! Echo may sometimes to do IV contrast in a hospital setting with a bubble study but I don't think they will in outpatient setting.

    In the video you mentioned even if you go one route you can go another. The program i’m going to only offers cardiovascular. Would I still be able to do that? Would I have to go to school all over again if I want to learn general?

    You can cross train into general if you go somewhere that allows that or you can go for a certificate program to do general! :) A little bit more research would include looking into the school you're interested in and seeing if they take your credits and/or degree. CAAHEP.org can help you with that!

    Hello, love this channel I’m considering echo and I honestly want to learn peds as well as adult. Is that possible? Would o have to get double certified or would I need to intern at a peds office. I’m so lost . At some point I would like to cross train to do general if I really enjoy the field

    You can cross train if you find a hospital willing to do that. I would also say maybe looking into a cardiac office that will help train you. You can also go to a certificate program to learn echo after you are done with general and vascular.

Btw i love your videos and have been doing alot of research before starting school lol. So couple questions if you could answer plz lol... do you know anyone that has gone to csn or if they have a good program? How can i shadow someone to make sure its tbe right carreer for me? How difficult is it really to get a job outta school. Im trying to get a entry lvl job as dietary aide or trasporter to get foot in the door so i have some medical exp to hopefully make it a lil easier. Id appiciate any feed back. Ty so much for these info videos

    Hi there!!! I have some people who go to CSN in my discord group. Feel free to send me an email or DM on instagram so you can join us and get more specific answers. They are a good program! Shadowing has to do with the sites, so call them and see if they will allow you. It's easy to get a job out here in Las Vegas. Getting CNA, transporter, scribe, EKG, or phlebotomy will definitely help you get your foot in as hospitals like to hire in house. Good luck and thanks for supporting me and the channel!

I realize your comment is 11 months old, but I also have some questions and would love to be in contact with someone who is doing what I want to do. I hope that makes sense. Thanks!

    the school i'm planning to apply to has separate programs for general, vascular and cardiac but cardiac is the only one not CAAHEP accredited, so I'm planning to apply to either general or vascular..I was leaning towards vascular because an advisor told me that the general ultrasound program is more impacted and I don't have any healthcare experience...However, I've heard some people say that there are less jobs for those who are only RVTs? and this makes me worried :( Is that true? How could I find out the what the job market is like in my area :(

  • @lolgeselle

    @lolgeselle

    Ай бұрын

    A majority of hospitals, depending where you work, require vascular so that's good.. but only if they have a separate vascular department. Many departments combine general + vascular or echo + vascular... if you are only RVT yes you will be limited. I highly recommend you look at your area and see if you can find anyone there with the best advice for you because you don't want to limit yourself if you don't have to! Also sometimes not being CAAHEP accredited isn't an issue if it is a bachelors program however you really need to lay out all of your options!

    it all depends on each person ! vascular is a lot of physics .. nothing in ultrasound is really easy but require hard work and studying :)
