Ava’s Animal rescue I don’t breed bunnies so their won’t be more videos like this. This was an accidental pregnancy. We had an escape in our rabbit room. 🤦🏼‍♀️ generally I rescue bunnies in my area & share bunny care on social media. I’m working on starting a small pets product line too. But we always have new rescues coming in. We have 2 new bunnies coming next Friday. Keep an eye out for that video. 🐰❤️

My rabbit is going to be free roaming but it has an x pen that’s always open so it can have a safe place but do you think I should put a covered box or kennel in it or a dog bed or no bed

Grace Krutzfeldt yes you should definitely have a hide house of some sort. A cardboard box works great. A bed is optional & will also depend on how much your bunny chews. When you first bring your bunny home you will want to start in a smaller space, like a pen, free roaming immediately can be overwhelming & cause stress. After your bunny gets settled then you can move to free roaming.

This happens some bunnies can be more difficult to litter train.

The dad is Lyon. I originally thought it was Dutchy. My mom saw the bunny on Hopps. All 3 bunnies, hopps, Dutchy & Lyon, escaped that morning. I didn’t mention Lyon being out because it didn’t seem relevant to the story at the time. She doesn’t know the bunnies very well & both are black & white. She told me Dutchy was on Hopps but now she says she thinks it was Lyon. I started questioning it because they looked like Lyon not Dutchy. I did make an announcement on Facebook about the mixup. I still can’t get Dutchy fixed because he is not eligible so that is 1 reason my daughter picked him to take home. AND I will be getting all of the boys fixed in a couple of months. The vet is 3 hours away that we go to so I want to take them all the same day. I’m working with a place that will assist with surgery cost for rescues. I want to do everything I can to prevent this from happening ever again. I love them but it was devastating to find out. So many bunnies already need homes. 😕🐰❤️

Handling Tip: If you cross a rabbits ears and hold them crossed in your hand as you lay it up-side-down on its back, it will safely, temporarily paralyze the rabbit and it will hold very still for you as you hold it and do what you need to do. The second the ears are released/uncrossed, it will be back to its normal self.. You’re welcome! 😊

What is the gender if I push and there’s just a bump and tiny one…it’s like flat all around then a tiny bump that does that mean?? I’m having trouble with my 1 month old babies because they don’t look like boys or girls

Andy T absolutely, as I commented previously the vet we use is 3 hours away. I am taking all of the boys to get fixed when the vet says they are old enough. I believe they will desex bucks younger than 6 months at my vet, girls have to be over 6 months old. Since it is so far I will be taking all of the boy the same day. I am working with a place now that helps rescues with the cost of surgery. I will be getting the girls done too but My immediate objective is to prevent pregnancy. Until then I have made extra security measures to prevent this from happening again. Before that day we never had an escape in 2 years & of course 3 bunnies escaped on the same day, I was devastated! 😔🐰❤️

Just to clarify, in the diagram you posted of the second rabbit's anatomy, with the anus above the penis, it's actually reversed, correct? Reproductive parts are closer to the belly and the anus below that...

No you do not flip it over onto its butt like that. If you truly did your research you'd know that. That puts them into a trance which is like a paralysis to them. And it is very very scary for them. Very important that you don't do that

That’s not correct, if you keep the bunnies head above the heart it is safe. You can do this without laying your bunnies completely on its back.
