just spent 2 hours trying to start a brand new quad , air gap was wrong until i tried the card trick ,starts first pull thank you s&scustoms

Hey man I've got a little drift trike with one of these engines and it's not starting was running fine changed the pull start as I broke it and it now won't run

hey dude.my 49cc won't start at all..clean fuel spark air.rebuilt carbie.. do you rekn spark isn't strong enough and needs magneto regapping?

+sscustoms100 I put my spark plug from my quad on.. it's a 2014 bike..magnetos better than my quad one...should I use magneto from quad? I can't find any reason why it won't start..apart from spark may not be strong enough...

+sscustoms100 it does...just watched your vid on how to re gap once fitted haha...will try in the morning ..if it still doesn't start..what would you think? throw it away and just use quad engine? lol. it's odd because it's 2014 and quad is like 2005. lol. and everything is fine.

Hi. You may also want to check your carb. see if there's any leak in manifold's gaskets. if there's no leak, you can try turning the mixture screw to fully close position. once you're done with it. Please follow these steps: 1. position the gas tap on and the choke lever close. 2. make sure that the engine switch is off, then pull the pull start at least 3 to 5 times but, not so hard like the way you want to start it. 3. turn the choke lever to open position and switch on the engine. 4. pull the pull start and try to start the engine. * once the engine get started, turn the carb mixture screw. counter clock until you get the right tune of your engine. if the engine still don't start, but sounds like it is going to start. try doing it again, maybe try for at least 5 times. if the result is the same, your bike maybe have different problem. I hope this may help you.

Can you help me I got a pocket bike with the same engine and I let my friend borrow it and he put straight gas in it and now my engine is seized and idk what to do now please help me out I wanna be able to ride my pocket bike again

my pocket bike works but i got bored one day and just randomly checked for spark and there wasnt any ! :O Was i doing it wrong because i did exactly what you did.

My mini dirt bike hasnt run for a while and the other day it started, the problem is that it went straight to full rev's when i hadn't twisted the throttle at all, as i wasnt expecting it the bike fliped backwards and the throttle snapped as well as part of the fairing. I am scared to start it again because of this. I've been told that my throttle slider is in the wrong way, but is there any other things that are causing this? Please help

+Jake Rowe you main jet is blocked, on the carb there's a bowl shaped thing on the bottom which holds the fuel, there's 2 screws holding it in. Take them out and the bowl off and you'll see a brass stick thing, this is the main jet. unscrew it with a flat head. Also it comes apart in two bits so be aware. screw them out and look down the jet, there should be a pin hole, if it's blocked which it will be, blow the gunk out that has built up in there with wd-40 or an air compressor. put it all back together but be cerful, the jet is brass so it will damage easy and there's a gasket between the bowl and the carb body, make sure its in the correct way and good luck..

Tried this and still no spark any ideas

So i adjusted my Coil but im still not getting a spark ( brand new engine out the box ) Should my Cut off wire be connected to something? ( cause its not now )

SelfCreation13 could be a faulty coil or bad spark plug best bet is to go buy a brand name spark plug and see if that helps

i tested my spark plug in a different engine and it worked! , so its ether my COIL or im doing something wrong!!! if its the coil its a 30day order from across the country! :(

UPDATE: i change the coil and the magnet thing ( behind the fly wheel ) and it works now!! :) ( i had an old seized engine)

My mini dirt bike hasn't run for about 2 years and the other day i tried to start it, it started but cut out very shortly, i tried it again and it started then cut out . Today it isn't starting, i cant even hear the exhaust wanting to start. I've looked at loads of different videos and they're not really helping. Does anyone know what to do? I dont know much about mini bikes so i dont want to take it apart too much as i might muck it up. Please help My spark plug has a spark but not very good

Jake Rowe id try getting a new coil seeing if that would help since you have had it for two years might be time for a new one

I've cleaned the carb, the spark plug is fine, its just very hard to start and when i do start it, the bike boggs/cuts out for no reason, i dont think its the idle screw. But when i drop fuel into the spark plug chamber it starts after about 5-8 pulls but again cuts out very quick and when i throttle it just other rev's and doesnt go anywhere... whats a coil *****

As the bike is old, one of the screws are circled so i cannot get the pull start off to replace the coil

Jake Rowe hi jake , have you tried starting the bike with the choke on ? 1. if the bike starts up for a few seconds and dies off, commonly points out to a carb issue. 2. if the bike throttled itself when you started it : - it could be if the tank was running real low on gas, -air leak at the intake, -your idle screw adjustment 3.Check if your fuel line is pinched if i was in your position, this is what i would do. remove the carb again. check if there is any clog at the main jet, try to eyeball with a bright light (the sun) at the back, if you cant see through, take a small needle and clean it. when you took the plug out, was it really black ? if it was it could mean you are running rich, i would try to adjust the C clip on the throttle needle to the first notch. it could also be your petcock deteriorating, the rubber which then blocks the fuel passage, so when you cleaned up the carb, did you noticed if the rubber gasket for the petcock is in good shape etc ? i would try to focus on the carb i feel thats where your problem might be.

My engine has spark but it still doesn't turn on What else should I do?
