I don't know about you but the Moisonite/dia tester I have lights up the LED over diamond as soon as you push the button on the back. And it stays lit up unless the 2 red Moisonite led's light up and it beeps. But I get the 2 red LED's and the tone when I touch the metal setting, my skin, the fabric in the box that the ring is in.. I mean as far as this thing is concerned everything is other a diamond or moisonite. And no one said Jack about this being a complimentary tool to be used alongside anything. But regardless it shouldn't register everything you touch as either diamond or moisonite as this does. And I checked the battery 9.36 volts. Pretty stranded for a fully charged 9 volt battery. And it doesn't matter how you adjust the sound/sensitivity. It does the same no matter where you place the dial. So I'm going to go with, it has nothing to do with not knowing how to set these properly. They are just pieces of garbage designed to be manufactured at cheaply as possible and sold for 100× what it cost to make it. I know how to tell for real. Take it to either a jeweler or a pawn shop where they have either professionals who can ID the stone or they have the really expensive tester that works. These things are made to rip you off and that's it.
