Many people ask themselves 'How do I know if my car battery is dead, or if it just needs charging?'. This question comes along especially during the winter months, when it's cold and a lot of cars struggle to start.
With this car battery checker by Kaiweets, model KVB01, you can check the health of your vehicle's battery and tell if it's bad or good. It works on batteries with voltage 12V and 24V. Important - this auto load tester is powered by the car's battery. It turns on automatically when you hook it up.
The battery tester can perform 4 different tests on your battery:
- Battery test - it shows the overall state of your car's battery, how much charge it holds, the porcentage of the overall health, how much the voltage is, how much cold cranking amperes (CCA) there are, and the resistance in the battery (the smaller the better). This test can tell you if your battery is good, normal, or if it needs replacing.
- Cranking test - this test measures the battery discharge performance. It basically shows how good the battery is for cranking (starting) your car. All you need to do is connect the clamps of the battery tester to the positive and negative leads of your car battery and ignite the engine of your car (with your key).
- Loading test - this test shows how good the battery of your car is under the load of consumers, such as, your headlights, radio, heating, etc. All you need to do is start your car, connect the battery tester, turn on as many electrical consumers as you can, hit the gas pedal until the engine RPMs are between 2000-2500 and then hit the test button.
- Charging test - this test shows how good your bettery is being charged by the alternator/generator. Pres the gas pedal, until the RPMs are between 2500-3000 and hit the test button.
Note: After you drive the vehicle for some time, the voltage of the battery will be higher than regular. You will have to put it to rest for some time, or turn on the headlights for about 3 minutes, so that the voltage can drop down to the normal values, before performing the test.
