How to Cheat for Faster Picado | Flamenco Guitar Lesson w/ TAB

You should always be working on the strict alteration for your picado technique. However, we can "cheat" to make things faster in certain cases. Here I give you a slip-finger picado study in the Tarantas key of B harmonic minor.

Hi Scot, One of the emails you sent me said "Happy playing, and drop me a line or leave a comment in the community!". I pressed the community link and it sent me to the main membership library page. I do not see anywhere to leave a comment there.

Hi Scott I got your email and responded to it yesterday but it came back with one of those “mailer daemon“ things… I believe the link in that email may have been an old one since I recently updated the community. When you go to “my library“ do you see something called “community“? I’ll try to message you in the community to see if you get notified.

Why not just use the index finger slip on the first 4 notes too?

It’s more of a “every once in a while” kind of thing, not something that you would do multiple times in a row typically!

Yes! I was just going to send an email out about that today - it’s in the area called “nylon string technique symposium“ under Picado > Slip Finger Picado. I also included the first exercise that I show in this tutorial and expanded upon it on every string with a pdf and play-along videos

I have such a hard playing picado with strict alternation between my M and I fingers. I’ve been using the slip technique to cross strings regardless if it’s the last note

Just sit around while you’re watching TV alternating index and middle rest strokes on one single string over and over and over until it becomes a part of the fiber of your being
