I just seen this in Monterey Bay (California) when I went whale watching they have the same type of charters but I'm closer to San Francisco but the one's in Monterey you get to watch whales also

Yes similar to most service things in USA. 20% ish in Europe or Australia, UK tipping etc is not really a thing as much so it’s much lower but appreciated.
