You forgot to mention that some smoke detectors even by the brands you showed have a 10 year sealed battery and they cannot be replaced when it starts chirping time for a new detector

I know how to I’m gonna help my grand parents with their smoke alarms and co alarms and test them :D

No we want more power outage emergency generator testing and running and emergency lighting videos. Plus we want to see the garage backup generator tested or in action

It is possible because participating in the American Red Cross can help an enthusiast collect smoke alarms that are out of date and needs a replacement. This would be a huge benefit for smoke alarm enthusiasts. You can also buy them off eBay or brand new ones from various stores.

Well we have first alert smoke alarms at my house installed two years ago. And they have the 10 year battery’s in there. But the one in my sister bedroom has been giving us trouble lately. Even with a new battery it still acting like the battery is dead on it.

4 beeps/min means the alarm needs replaced. Maybe set a stop watch to find out?

You also should of mentioned that while most smoke alarms use a 9V battery, there are some that use 2 AA batteries

What if it's a ionization detector? You can't replace the battery in a 10 year ionization smoke alarm or detector, kidde made a 10 year smoke alarm. When it ends,discharge the alarm.

At my Old house we had a security system with a Honeywell security smoke alarm in the hallway and a fireX smoke alarm in the hallway and one day the security smoke alarm started chirping and so we took out the battery and it was a camera battery The fireX smoke alarm was not with the security system and then at bedtime the battery in the motion sensor started to die to replace the smoke alarm we had to disable the security system
