Let me show you a quick simple way to change your Discord name while on the mobile app. Discord allows you to change both your username and your display name, so we'll look at how to do both of these.
To get started, find and open the Discord app. Once inside, tap the "You" menu tab on the bottom right of the screen to get to your account page. At the top right of this screen, tap the settings gear icon. Once in the settings, tap on "Account" near the top.
You'll see all your account settings here. First, at the top, tap "Username" and enter the new username you want to use. Make your change, and if it’s available, you’ll get a notification underneath. If it’s not available, it will give you some suggestions. Hit "Save" on the top right of the screen, then confirm your change with your Discord password.
Next, to change your display name, go back to the "Account" menu and tap on "Display Name." You’ll be taken to your profile page where you can tap the display name option. Enter the new name you want your profile to display. You’ll get a preview of your profile here. When you're ready, tap "Save" on the top right.
After that, your account will have the updated names, and you'll be good to go.
