I notice there's a slot in the nut that tightens the tap up underneath, can you use a screwdriver on that? I'm a Joiner, never changed a tap in my life.

Also ; what size socket would I need for that nut, just in case I have to get one..and what length would I need it to be to make it as easy as you made it look.

Brilliant! I watched this video a few times and went out and bought the tools and methodically did the job as this is the first time I've ever done any plumbing work. The video was so well explained and easy to follow, I did the whole thing effortlessly and even fitted two isolation valves and flexihose. Thanks for this video!
Great vid. Gave me the confidance and I fitted my kitchen tap this weekend, it was very tight but instead of welding to a box spanner I used my car socket set and fitted the box spanner on the end, worked a treat.
You weren’t messing when you said it’s tough to remove the old fittings! My hands got tired but super proud now the job is finished ✅ Great video, thanks for posting.
Just finished fitting my new mixer tap. Mine was even more difficult to do, as I don't have a double undersink cupboard - just one, and with more pipes and fittings in the way! In addition, the original nuts and olives on the copper pipe tails connecting the HW/MCW isolating valves (lucky they were there and had 15mm screw threads) wouldn't come off, so I had to use a hack saw to remove the pipes. Fitting the new one was much easier, especially as the clamping nut and bolt had to be fitted on the opposite side, which gave me more space to work with (the new tap set came with a plastic tool to use which actually worked fine). The new pipes were braided flexibles so weren't too bad to fit, albeit a bit long. No kinks as far as I could see. All working fine no, and thus far, no leaks. Thanks James for the 'how to' video - it really helped. I certainly appreciate why plumbers charge quite a bit for their time and effort - I would NOT want to have to do this, day after day.
This saved me today, thanks. Great video, just what I needed.
Great video, really well explained. Thank you!
Nice and easy instructions, excellent human being!! Keep that spirit in you going!
Thanks very simple instructions but very effective, exactly what I needed perfect. Thanks
Cheers bud, changed the exact same tap for the exact same tap, your vid was a great help
great video mate, well done clear to follow, thanks for posting
Your tip of towel inside cabinet to lie on was fab made it so easy. Thanks. All your vids are great tips. I don't do these things often but act as reminders.

Excellent vlog on the kitchen tap, now, all I need is divine inspiration in order to fit my dual spray Grone fitment ...
Thank you so much for this vid!! Very helpful and perfect description! 👍👍👍
This was very helpful, thank you.
Thank you so much for the video!! Managed to replace a kitchen tap today!!
Great job! Helped me so much, thanks alot!
very good video, im doing my level 1 in plumbing at the moment, great video and easy to follow and understand.
Once again, you’ve saved me money on a plumber visit to change the tap. Thanks.
Thanks for the video, this helped and saved me a load of money, thanks!
Excellent video mate. My kitchen sink tap was juddering and leaking when I'd have my hot water on upstairs in the basin or bath. Thought it may have been the pipework before untill I inspected the hot water tap which was the same monoblock you've just fit in. The hot water side was slack. Tried to tighten it up which I did using a Allen key however still persisted then used your method to fit in a new tap and it works perfectly. Word of warning to us guys in the UK. The cheap Amazon/eBay taps are ok but not used to our water pressure so will only last a while mines did 3 years.
Thanks. Good one. I have just attached the flexible connecting pipes to my new mixer tap. Ignoring the instructions to just finger tight I put the smallest of nips onto the pipes with my pliers. Now after seeing the way you did it I'm not sure if this was sensible. Just about to find out when I finish the job! Edit - Just finished the job and it looks ok.
Brilliant thankyou. So clear and straightforward.
best demonstration and great act.short and simple.keep it up
Always found your videos very useful. You are a gem.
This video is a great help to me: the spout cracked on my over-priced Franke Munich and then came apart when I tried to remove it, so now I have to replace the whole tap block. Your instructions just made that a heck of a lot less hassle. I should be able to undo the nut with a socket spanner, if I can get past the rigid tails those psychopaths put in the way.
Great vid - it explained everything really well in detail - learned what i should have done! now to redo the job to stop the tap wobbling & renew the flexible hoses.
Extremely well explained. Thank you very much.

very good. I love watching these videos.
Absolutely brilliant video thank you so much
I have learnt so much watching your video many thanks for your help thank you
Another great video, many thanks.
Excellent video mate. I had a nightmare changing a very similar tap because I don’t have a welded handle on my monoblock spanner set. Could you please tell me the type of handles they are and where I could get them from. I want to get my spanner set welded like yours. Your videos are absolutely brilliant mate.
So clear and concise. I'm really glad I stumbled across your video. Thank you.

Good man very useful, I'm gonna have a go at my Franke tap now, fingers crossed.
Excellent very well presented !
Great video, thanks v much, really useful to see the underside connections and how to bolt up. There’s plenty of other videos on isolating valves and compression joints, even on speed fit pipes...
Brilliant video. Thanks
Thanks mate. Good vid well explained.
Massive help as ever, hold tight!!
thank you so much, just a quick question how to stop water dripping from the sink tap which you installed now, same type. waiting for your reply,
Thank you ...I followed this to the letter and had no problems fitting😊
Thanks! That's was exactly what I was looking for :)

Mine didn't need replacing but it had come very loose so your video was VERY useful thank you. A set of those spanners for a fiver from Amazon and l was "Good to go" as they say. I agree though it's a bloody pain in the arse job crawling under there to fit the spanner.
Good tool to have handy is a telescopic pole with a magnet on the end. Looks exactly like an old school car aerial. Use this to hold the underside clamp in place while you position you spanner.
Awesome vid as always plenty of detail, Looking forward to the toolbox tour one you mentioned a while back

Great informative video. I like.
Brilliant job cheers mate.
Thanks so much. Got a dirt blocked hot feed on kitchen tap and couldn't get access to top end. Now know I need a tube spanner ! 👍🏻
Thank you so much you are the Hero 1 one in the Uk 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍
Just reviewed today before changing a tap! All went well, cheers :-)
Fantastic video, thanks
Well done. Thank you.
good job mate and very helpful cheers x atb
Thank you ,good informative vidio
Just the job, thanks! Bought the tube spanners to help, 8 quid. Nice shiny new mixer in the kitchen and the other half has stopped nagging as the dripping noises have stopped! 😄
Very good video, I had flexible pipes, and luckily, I had two isolation pipes hanging around, lol. I had to buy myself a set of Spaners to take the tap off
very helpful indeed. thank youi

No worries.
Exactly what I was looking for.
What do I need for the copper pipe to connect the flexi pipe once I cut it? Already got isolator valves but they are before the bends (which seem to take a detour for some reason) Don't know what the plumber was smoking. Sorry, I'm new to this.
Thanks mate! you just saved me a fortune in a call out fee alone!
But you didn't show how you connected pipes you had cut at beginning?
You made that look easy 👍
This was the best tip vid I found
Hi thanks for the video. It's great. But how do I solder/connect the new tap flexi taps to the copper piping? Any advise would be grateful.
brilliant, thanks
Thanks your video really helped. God bless.

Excellent video. I'm calling in a plumber!
Just found your video which has helped me, question though how do I fit the flexi pipes to the copper pipes, you didn't show that part, does the pipe cutter thread as well so I can screw the flexi on to the copper
My job was a goodun. Thanks chap 😎👍
Hi James thank you soooo much for your lovely video , quick question where can I get that triangle stabiliser from ??? Could you please let me know , thank you.😊
Hi I have the identical tap to remove . What size was the box spanner you used to undo the nut under the sink ? I have spanners , hopefully I have the right size already ?
YOU Sir are a Saint. Now I can remove the nut! My shoulders, head and self control thank you. Andy
Good work james
Thanks for this
The piping under my sink coming from the old tap seems to go on forever and then joins to another pipe before i actually get to a connection. do i need to cut the pipe further up and add a connection? because i don't think a standard flexi will reach. btw love your videos.
excellent video
Hi, I've just fitted a new tap and it seems that my sink is a bit wobbley when moving the spout of the new tap. The tap came with the plastic triangle like the one in the video, I think I may have to use it but the question is where it goes under the sink or as a base of the new tap? Sorry If this sounds stupid!
Tubular spanners are definitely for the win. As they used to say a decade ago.

The new tap had a slot in the nut so a long screwdriver would likely have worked. But the box spanners set is £8 so I got both.
Great video cheers
Thank you for your videos. I just successfully changed my mixer taps with copper pipes with new flexible pipes and new isolation valves thanks to you advice!

This waa brilliant local plumber wanted 77 pounds per hour to do this, i managed it myself after watching thanks
Thanks helped me out and earned me brownie points deserving of a pint.
Any ideas on how you would replace a tap when you have a Belfast sink, it’s difficult to get through, will I need to take out the sink
The box spanner’s are Essential for this job, adjustable spanners in tight spaces are pure hell.
Helpful video. Bit worrying to see electric plug sockets underneath the sink?
Helpful video... I am going to change a Kitchen tap, my first time... I have wrenches and things arriving... But I'd assumed I'd nead a sealent.... Is this not the case?
would like to know how you reinstalled the hot and cold and installed the isolation valves & flexibles
How did you connect the new tap to the old pipework? I think you missed a relevant stage out of your presentation.

but I assume u have to make sure u dont cut the pipe to low as the new flexi pipe might not reach it .So u must find out what length of flexi pipe u have before starting the cuts .
Good video keep them coming.

Thank you for video.....this was exactly as under my sink i followed this through cutting away old hard piping and installing flexi's with compression valves but im getting a leak between the flexi connection and the compression valve side of compression valve.....there is no leak where the olive is.....any idea what im missing? Thanks in advance!
