Thanks for the upload. All the other videos I watched so far had some easy twist-off cover in the back but mine has screws like yours. Those complaining about the process, I agree but be happy you didn't buy a used Ram with a Westin grille guard up front that completely prevents headlight removal. It has dozens of mounting bolts but the wings are welded on.

Just be patient. Takes a little fiddling but you will get it. Movie magic makes it look faster than it was lol

My 2015 had a cover with 5 screws to cover both light bulb sockets, no big deal. There appeared to be 2 different bulbs the the low beam. The parts dept recommend that I buy both which was a #9012 and a #H11, it was the #9012 that needed to be replaced. I believe it cost about $25. The dealer told me $200-$250 for them to do it. I saved : ) it took me 1 hour and 15 minutes while viewing a couple different KZread videos. One part of the installation was the one bolt in the bottom of the headlight I had to use a 12" socket extension to reach it and that bolt is also the light level adjustment so I don't know what level it is at until I drive at night.

Big Help...THANX. Pretty much exactly as you said...except for 3 minor issues. My truck is a 2015 RAM 2500 Laramie, 6.4L engine. 1. One screw on each side of housing cover was rusted(design flaw?)...couldn't remove...had to cut a slot with oscillating tool to remove screw with screwdriver...not too bad unless you don't have that tool. 2. Harness is a hassle to remove...need to pry gently to remove. 3. Bought wrong bulb...H11 didn't fit...Sylvania 9012 was perfect match...suggest removing bad bulb and lining up with new. Replaced both sides...$35 total. Dealer said $145 minimum labor, plus bulb cost. Figure I saved at least $210. Dealer was 1 week out for service. Maybe 3 hours total...DIY. Very Helpful. Thanx. Mark. Above average handyman?!!!

However all that is fine and dandy to replace the bulbs. But the reason why Dodge recommends removing the grill is to access those knurled adjustments on that bottom nut that has the access slot to adjust the height of your headlights so they're even.

I replaced my bulbs today without removing the grill. After reinstallation I noticed the gaps around the headlight assembly weren't right. Haven't turned them on at night yet but I'm sure they need adjustment.

@@tlpy77 the adjustment holes were along the top of the inner fenders. You see two arrows on top. I just traded my 2014 in though the other day. Not sure it’s the same on my new one. Which gap are you talking about.

The gap is the space around the perimeter of the headlight assembly. It's not equal around the top,sides, and bottom and one side of the assembly now sits further back than it should. I'm a stickler about body gaps. I'll find out when I leave for work if they are misaligned.

Thanks! Went to several different oil change places and they said they couldn't replace because it involved removing the grill. The one place that could replace it was going to charge me $134 for .8 hours labor and $13 for the bulb! If I had the tools I could change it and I am a senior grandma!

Easier if you remove grill...just 4 bolts and ease out...replaced both low beams today...6-28-22...tip: lube connecting points with vaseline before reassembling.

For everyone asking about how to change the turn signal, guess what...its a freaking LED board. No bulb. You literally have to tear the headlight apart to get at the board or do the easy thing and spend $200 bucks on an aftermarket replacement headlight assembly. You get to choose between time and a big hassel or money. Choose wisely.

How did you adjust them after installation? My LEDs arrived yesterday and I don't want to be Mr. Toolbag blinding everyone on the road.

There’s a hole in the fender. You will need a 7mm socket with extension or a T20 bit. Both work. But mine were good right after. Virtually same spot. Just make sure you get the bulb orientation right. Mark the beam location on the garage when u do it with some tape and see where it hits. Then check after the install. If it’s off vertically, use the socket through the hole in the fender. Clockwise raises. Let me know how it works out!

I used 9012 for low beam and 9005 for high beams.

If a 73 year old grandma can do this, so can I!! Lady owner of a 2014 Laramie 1500… the left driver turn signal is out and I’ve been told to replace the whole assembly. Is there a way to fix just the turn signal in the existing assembly, or do I need to just swap in new please? I have a soldering iron if needed. Would really appreciate it! Ty!

I’m trying to remember what it all looked like. Either way, you’re going to have to remove the housing though. Remove it, it’s just a simple bulb, install a new one and reinstall it. If not, just order the housing.

The turn signals are located in the same housing. You have to remove the whole assembly just like as if you were doing the headlight.

I cannot find the blinker bulb for replacement. I have the entire housing removed and only see high and low beam bulbs

Lot of these with a bottom 10mm bolt have a knurled sleeve that the bolt goes into, that adjusts your headlight angle. Also did you remember to push the retainer that holds the headlight socket back behind the wheel well? . You didn't show that in the end of the video.

Oh yeah. You're actually supposed to remove grill too. So stupid. You would think engineers would better design this stuff to make some things a bit easier.

@@VicsGarage71 Engineers are paid to make these simple jobs more difficult for the average person, to deter them from repairing or replacing parts themselves, and depend more on mechanics.

you act like removing the grille is difficult... its so much easier to just do the job properly, than to try and cut corners....

Such a dumb design by dodge. Never had to take out a headlight like this

I just wanted to comment on your video and say that you did it the really really long way to make it easier you do not have to take the grill off that was just a bunch of b******* thanks for the extra time

What an asinine way configure a headlight assembly. I am doing this later today along with an EVIC swap but goddamn that is just rude. This should be set up as something normal people can do. Silly.
