    Nice video! I have a 2007 Dyna street bob, one thing to keep in mind is that the engine is rubber mounted and the oil filter is directly above the rubber engine mount. Taking off the oil filter like that will put oil on the rubber mount and ruin it in no time at all, the rubber will expand and the engine will eventually shake like crazy and the mount will have to be replaced often. I have a flat funnel that goes under the oil filter, you take a big nail and put a hole in the top of the filter, then unscrew the filter a half turn so the oil slowly drains out of the filter and down the flat funnel. Then when it's completely drained you take off the filter. You can do it like you showed but I'd follow up with brake cleaner and clean off the rubber engine mount or you'll run into trouble. When I bought my bike the front mount was covered with oil, the rubber was expanded about 2X out of the mount and the engine shook so bad I was afraid to ride it without replacing the mount.

    Im 18 and I had bought a 2008 dyna street bob from my mentor, got a good deal for it, worked my ass of for it though lol. My dad's got a 1986 low rider special edition, and I bought mine so I could ride with him. But anyways, I appreciate you getting straight to the point and no bullshit, I need someone to teach me this stuff and watching your videos helps me out, thanks man!

    is it necessary to change transmission oil? Because I want to service my dyna street bob by myself and I saw couple of videos on KZread to find out how to service our bike at home. Some people changing a transmission oil also and some people don’t. So if I had to change transmission oil then which oil should I use?

  • @SingleMaltMotors

    @SingleMaltMotors

    Yes, you can and should service your transmission and primary drive oils as well. Per the Clymer manual the transmission and primary take the same oil, i.e., HD Formula+ Transmission and Primary Chain Lubricant. If not available then 20W50
