How to Change Water Pump and Thermostat - [2000 GMC Sierra 1500]

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Today I'm showing you how I am restoring my truck's cooling capabilities by replacing my water pump and thermostat. The truck often overheats and diagnosing it lead to a bad water pump. So since I am replacing the water pump, I will also show you how I replaced my thermostat and lower radiator hoses as well.

Appreciate the step by step! I heard the car wizard made a good point about removing the lower hose instead of using the petcock because it’s easier to replace a hose in case it breaks than a radiator.

That's a good tip! Yeah either way works, but I can see the advantage of using the lower hose to drain :)
