How to change the way your dog listens to you! Tom Davis Dog Training in Canada!
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
How to train a German Shepherd to stop lunging and barking at everything on walks? Tom Davis did a dog training seminar in Canada and this is two dogs from the dog training seminars. Both dogs were struggling with dog anxiety and control from their handlers.

Amanda here! Fritz is my boy and we're the INCREDIBLY lucky ones that were able to get so much out of this seminar. I went into this excited to meet someone I consider an idol, as well as nervous but thrilled to see what might come for my boy Fritz. I left absolutely floored. I have never EVER felt or seen Fritz so naturally calm. I have felt a sense of peace just simply from Tom's reassurances. We are now getting solid work in, I'm 100x more confident going anywhere with him, we have a game plan and are researching/feeling out a good trainer for his needs, and our dynamic at home has completely shifted. Fritz has even been able to be properly and successfully introduced to 2 of our friends dogs that we wouldn't have introduced before. Id say we're all alot happier and know its only going to get better. You're a god send, Tom. Forever in your debt 🙏🫶

Thank you so much for update! I did wonder how he went! 💖💖💖
❤❤❤ I wish every GS owner struggling could see this!!!
I could watch the dog handling all day long! 💖
My biggest “Aha” moment today was hearing reference to horsemanship instead of leash pop on turns, which we’ve struggled with inside turns. I do too many pops, and I’ve wondered why he doesn’t understand. Now I Understand. Going to practice tonight with that new piece of information. As always, Thank you Tom.
“He’s just doing German shepherd shit.” - the accuracy 😂
I appreciate your patience with struggling owners! It's easy to see where to correct the behavior when I'm watching and you are a master teacher and confidence builder for the owners on how to handle their dog in a way that actually forges the bond.
"Tugging around" is a good description of the GSD's owner's handling (also the way a lot of people handle their dogs). Tom's corrections were sharp, well-timed, and incredibly effective.

Watching the GSD 13:00 I have to say that the inside turn was one of the most powerful tools I use on my sisters intact Springer Spaniel. He'll pull everyone like a freight train but when I handle him the heel is developing beautiful with that one simple approach.

Inside turns have been my saviour too. Just one or two and my dog goes “ok” stops pulling straight away.
I was so fortunate to participate in Tom’s Calgary seminar. Watching Tom with Fritz was mesmerizing! The arena was dead quiet as we watched with amazement at the transformation with Fritz! I am so happy for Amanda & Fritz. I learned a lot from Tom & am trying to be a better handler. Thank you Tom, Taylor & Abbey! Jamie & “Steven James”! PS: glad you were able to see out mountains😉

Thanks Amanda. I was so thrilled to see your post & the huge improvements you both have made! I was in complete awe watching Tom with Fritz! I agree with your thoughts about Tom! I am so thankful there’s humans like yourself dedicated to their pet. You should feel proud of the advances you’ve made. Steve & I are practicing Tom’s homework & I (like you) are feeling more confident. Steve had (In past) lunged gotten away from me 4 x’s and pulled me to the ground a couple of times from lunging at another dog. I felt I wasn’t the best owner for him. But, thankfully balanced training is helping us live a better life. Thank you, Tom Davis!! Keep in touch! Jamie & Steve(en James)😉

This video was amazing as always Tom! It’s always so heartwarming to see the owners perspectives and how much of an impact you make on their lives. We appreciate everything you do! ❤
You had me crying. I love the subtle relationships you've built between dog and master. I am so excited to train my new German Shepherd bitch with your firm, kind and functional methods of training. Being disabled I have to be able to do this on my own as financials are very tight. Thank you so much for your videos. They are making a major difference in my life❤

dude, you are the goat. I know I say that on like every video, but its true.
Such a cool video! I liked the combination of dog training and life stuff. And the video quality and editing was top notch.
Sorry I missed your trip to Canada. I am just getting into your videos. I have an 18month Dutch Shepherd. He is an awesome adventure dog (canoeing, SUP, camping, mountain biking, running, etc), but it’s been a steep learning curve since he’s my first working dog. Love your videos. Very encouraging. God bless you.
Thanks for this. I can't get enough of this. My large dog is reactive because she's a lover. This helps.

Wow, this information is so incredibly helpful and inspiring. I have a 15wk old GSD and I am already starting to see reactiveness and anxiety in situations with him. We are just now going to start with an E collar. I hope that this is the extra helping hand we need. Thank you for sharing your videos!
You never stop amazing me, great job Tom.
Another great video Tom luv seeing your family 🐾
Truly dog training is art. This was beautiful, so helpful as usual and really inspiring and heartwarming 💙🥺 Production value was off the charts dude! 👏🏽
I’m going to work on my intact GSD using your methods. I think I’m over correcting because he’s so distracted. Thanks for your content. If you come to SW Florida, I’ll sign up. Just steer clear during hurricane season. 😊
I loved this video! I want more like this.
I will probably need pager too. So far the prong collar works great for walking my dog, but not so much when she sees another distraction.
Amazing video, the results are fabulous! As soon as the shots of the rockies started playing, I knew exactly where you were. Come back to Canada anytime! 🇨🇦
Been waiting for this no bad dogs in 🇨🇦
Incredible training!! You are amazing. Thank you for all the advice!!
Amazing video from a great dog expert I'm keeping my faith to meet you Tommy Davis I'm kinda like that guy in your video always talking about and referring people to watch your videos you are the best always much love
Nice job!! Beautiful country and great handling. Relationship, relationship, and more relationship building. I swear it's key. Always building that relationship with both my gsd's, Jax and sasha. Thanks for all you do.
Loved the family vids, loved what you did for them
As always great video I'm so excited and need to share something. I've had Maxie a 5mo Aussie who I've had from 7 weeks Not long after she was part of my life and after watching several of your videos I purchased a H.S. Prong but had not used it till today and after months of pulling on flat and Marten collars and a slip leash She walked at a heel with hardly any pressure at all and minimal correction's Just like power steering Worked way better than I expected Being a disabled Vet having extra stress and anxiety from training this seems to be a way to relieve some of it. Thanks for all the great videos you put out Keep up the awesome work
Lmao❤️❤️😂we dont have enough mugs!! We needed it❤️❤️❤️❤️

OMG I love Banff! I wish you pass on the vancouver island haha I'm so exhausted of failing all the time with my GSD over over reacting when he sees dog on walks
Taylor trained you well! Never enough space for the Sbux mugs 😂.
Thanks for the great video I wish if you put Chicago in your list ❤
Happywifehappylife! Well said! 😂😂😂
Thanks mate, great job as usual these videos really helped me with my dog and I recommend all dog owners to watch them ❤❤
Hey, Tom, love your videos! You say you answer questions, so here's one for you - how would one work on training an intact 8-9 mo. old shepherd (Dutch? waiting on dna) when he has wounds in his neck from a prong collar, and has had no training from what's been observed? They are almost healed, just not yet. He has been learning the basics, he's been here 10 days now, and while he does walk on a leash, he was 'dog reactive' at a local pet store - ie, this puppy that looks like an older dog that has been in fights barked excitedly at another dog and we were asked to leave the store as he was then sadly deemed "unfriendly" and "aggressive ". *I* know he just wanted to meet the other dog, ~however~ with his unhealed wounds I am unsure of what corrective methods to use, sans reverting to that which hurt him, a prong collar. To give you an idea, he had no hair at all around his neck as it was rubbed off all around, and developing scars around the front of his neck, with perhaps 3 or 4 puncture wounds still not healed, yet. Do I wait until he's completely healed before moving forward in his training, risk8ng unwanted behavior going unchecked in the interim? Or? He has been INCREDIBLY sweet, willing to learn, just a tad fearful of the whole world that he had not been exposed to (in our opinion) for his first 8 months. *side note - he did the same barking/slightly raised hackles when a neighbor came by, however when he got to the gate, it was all 'happy puppy' at meeting a 'new friend'. *I* don't believe he'd hurt anyone, however, with his really deep voice, some others that see him become a tad fearful. Advice, please? Thanks!
What is your connection to the Chiefs? I'm from KC so I was just curious with your facility being in New York. I watched the Mahomes video is that all?

When are you coming back to texas. I have 2 Rottweilers (1 yr old litter mates). When they are together they do not listen and i dont know how to fix it.
Your amazing how do you use a frim voice to your dog
Video idea. My 4 month old puppy (40 lbs) continues to try to jump the fence when he sees something/someone he wants. Yesterday he slipped out the gate and tried to jump over the neighbors fence to get in and play with their dog.
Hi there guys! I have a rescue whom I have been struggling with for almost 3,5 years now. He is actually worse than those dogs in these vids who are labelled as the "worst dogs" Tom has handled. I get bitten more or less on a daily basis as he redirects his outbursts towards me. He goes for dogs, people, kids, neighbours, you name it. We've had five different trainers, behavioural specialists and anxiety medication and nothing has helped. In Sweden where I live I haven't been able to find any trainer who works with similar methods as Tom does, all of them seem to be doing the positive counterconditioning but that only goes half way. It has helped with some things but not with the attacks, outbursts and the likes. I had to quit my job due to my dog attacking visitors (he was supposed to be with me at work) and my social life is almost nonexistant these days as I can't take him anywhere, he attacks waiters and other guests at the cafés or restaurants. The lunges comes so quickly it's not humanly possible to prevent it and once he explodes there is no stopping him. (Prong collars and e-collars are illegal in Sweden). I am interested in hearing from you guys who's been trying to work with Toms methods on your own, if you like me live elsewhere and can't attend his classes. Is there any hope at all?

Hi. What kind of dog/mix do you have? Do you know where the dog came from before he came to you? How old is he? what are the positive sides to your dog? What are your "routines"? I live and work with dogs in Norway
im so mad i missed this :(
I’m retiring soon and would like to volunteer at our no kill dog shelter. Do you have any training for that?
Goals
When are you coming to northern California
When you coming to Sweden?
How much is it and do you have anything in California?
Any trips to NS planned ? or did you
seminars in Ottawa any time soon ?
I could be wrong but that dog looks more like a Kelpi than a GSD, or 50/50. That could explain the intensity.
Are you planning on coming to the Milwaukee area at all? I’m at my wits end with our dog. We no longer take walks because they end in both of us being frustrated. Perhaps him being 5, it’s hopeless 😢

So wish you could do something with deaf dogs. I now have a six month old but not being able to say “place” “break” etc. or being able to let them off leash with no guarantee they’ll come back... what do you do? Plus, So many deaf dogs could also be saved if people weren’t perplexed by the thought of having one. 🐾
