Wow, I didn’t realize how easy this is! Will there be any different things to do when changing it to plus scales?

I have never found that they stay unless you glue them down, but I didn’t hammer them on to be fair.

They are suppose to snap into place, that's why we use a hammer to attach the scales.

Two questions: would a vice also work? And what model is that thin one you used?

A vice would work, just be careful if it's a large vice since you can apply a lot of pressure. The model used to pry the scale off is a Day Packer.

Will it be more stiffer to take out the tools after replacing the scale?

No, the tools are still easily accessed. This is similar to how the scales are installed at the factory.
