How to Change the oil on a 2008-2012 Chevy Malibu
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
This video shows you how to change your oil on a 2008-2012 Chevrolet Malibu, equipped with the 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. Additionally, I show you how to reset the oil life monitor on the car's dashboard, so your Malibu will know when to remind you of your next service.

When you said about the hood release, "If you don't know, you probably shouldn't be changing your oil," I knew it'd be a good video. Even when you're doing it the idiot way. Thanks!
I died at the cone part 😂😂
Your video is so authentic, I now know how to change my oil with a smile on face :) Thank you!

You Sir , are a Treasure , any one can do it with the right tools ,I was waiting for the Swiss Army knife to show up !
This video was very helpful and also entertaining, dude's pretty funny I like how he kept saying we're gonna continue to do it the dumb way 😂

Absolutely love your attitude, this is how I feel every time I work on my car. Mostly “yeah f this, screw that, dont have the right tool, thank god im done”. You are very REAL and that alone sets your channel apart from others. Please come out with more videos, you WILL make it big!!
Good job young man. Keep the output coming

Very Helpful. The Idiot way 😂. I appreciate it man.
Do those ramps clear the bottom of your bumper? I wanted to buy a set of those, but I was worried they might scratch the bottom rolling up.
@Allcarseveryday
5 жыл бұрын
They cleared it for me, which is saying something because the front lip of these Malibus hangs very low (I scrape on steep driveways). Plus, even if they didn't, they're made of plastic and you're moving at a super low speed. If you're really worried about it, you can try putting a 2x4 on the beginning part of the ramp to add clearance. IT just makes it a little more dangerous and you can't apply hardly any throttle. But mine went fine, no scraping. So you should be good too!

Get two pieces of wood and lay them in front of the ramps. No problem.
Could you do a video on changing the water pump for this car as well?

incony constanza I bought my car with extensive service records from an elderly couple, and I was the second owner. I’ve had it for 2 years, 0 problems whatsoever. If you can find a well maintained car, I would recommend it!

"Because we're doing everything the dumb way, and not the right way..." 🤣🤣
He is funny 😅
I find it funny how you made it look do hard to get the filter out. Between ball the cars I've worked on the 08-12 Malibus have been the easiest. Shoot even easier than my 2000 Civic and that car was easy and cheap to fix. 😂
Where did you buy those ramps
@Allcarseveryday

Make sure you set your emergency brake whether your vehicle on a curb or jack or whatever that’s dangerous af to use those ramps and no ebrake
Seems to be more of a How Not To Change Your Oil. Lol!!! Good enough though. It still gets the important points across. But that was how I did my first oil change, without all the right tools. Lol!!!
The ramps are safer it’s the jack and stands all in one
do you use regular or synthetic oil?
@Allcarseveryday
2 жыл бұрын
You should be able to use either. I used synthetic high mileage in this video.
You didn't lubricate the new O ring

@Allcarseveryday
4 жыл бұрын
I took 10 seconds of the video to say to use 5W-30 and NOT what I was using, and I stand by the fact that pre-bankruptcy GM cars were not stellar.
Could have just used only one ramp. Great video tho!
Please take heed to this because I speak from personal experience. Do not improvise when it comes to using the proper tools for the task at hand it is imperative that you follow the workshop specifications when it comes to Ianything automotive. It will save you money in the long run on unneccessary repairs later on down the road.

Joseph Donovan the only tool he compensated for was a funnel. Which a cone just so happens to be. An adjustable wrench is no problem for that "task at hand." Whatever personal experience caused you to blow up your car during an oil change, i would love to hear. Because this guy admits he was stupid. And i actually learned a few things from him. "YOU" on the other hand i learned "NOTHING" from. So thanks for wasting my time.
