In this video I show you step by step how to change the SPARK PLUGS in your 2016 TOYOTA COROLLA. This process should also work for similar TOYOTA COROLLA models. This is a very straight forward job and doesn’t require a lot of automotive knowledge to perform this maintenance requirement. Your SPARK PLUGS are a very important part of your engine and you always want to change them at the recommended time. My wife’s 2016 TOYOTA COROLLA requires that her SPARK PLUGS be changed right around the 100,000 mile mark. Her car just hit 100,000 miles so I decided to change the SPARK PLUGS. The tools you will need and the spark plugs that I used are in the links above. This job cost me about $58 total. It could be cheaper or more expensive based on the type of spark plug you use and if you need any extra tools. In the video you will see that I used a 14mm SPARK PLUG SOCKET. This specific socket is used to remove and replace SPARK PLUGS. A regular deep 14mm socket will not work. I purchased OEM SPARK PLUGS for my car, but you can purchase whatever type of spark plug you desire. I would recommend that you use OEM because that’s what the manufacturer designed for the car. Super helpful! I like how you just used the extender to get around the space limitations instead of using a swivel head (one less thing to buy) and then attached the wrench. 👍🏻 Dealership said $150 in labor for this. Gonna try it myself 🤞🏻

Super helpful video. My corolla had been a little sluggish for a while. Today, it was rough start, that smoothed out in less then a minute and it ran fine. But that told me that it could be the spark plugs. I had no idea where to find them before your video. Got it done in less that 20 minutes. It is running great

Excellent tutorial, I immediately went to Auto-Zone, bought the Bosch set of 4 spark plugs and following your guide, I replaced them in less than 30 minutes. One cautionary thing for those doing the work, be careful when removing the spark plug socket as the rubber grommet might not want to come out with the socket. I was able to put the socket back in, wiggle it and BOOM, the grommet came out with the socket. THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO, it's so nice to do this yourself with ease and save money that would have gone to a repair shop.

Thanks so much for this informative video. I've never worked on cars my whole life. 36 years old and have very little knowledge about vehicles. This gave me the security and know how to change my own spark plugs with no hassle. Although the first one the rubber ring came out of the socket and I put the cap back on and screwed it down. Thought I dropped it somewhere in the engine and looked for a good 20 minutes before I took the cap back off and realized it was stuck on the spark plug. Took about 45 minutes my first time every changing these. YT is great. I've changed my breaks and now spark plugs and have saved about $300 in shop fees. I'm a doordasher and put a lot of miles, wear and tear on my car so this is huge savings down the road. Now if I just had a machine to change my tires out and the tools and know how to change my struts/shocks. Thanks 😊

Thank you so much for making this video. I have never done anything to my car on my own and I wasn’t super confident that I could do this, but with the help of your step by step instructions I did it! I did have to buy a magnetic socket, as I couldn’t loosen the spark plug with what I had on hand, but other than that, your instructions made something previously daunting, incredibly simple and something I knew I could do. Thank you so much. 😊

The spark plug on mine has a sleeve over the plug. I need a thinner wall sized socket. A standard plug won't fit. Man I tell you the later the model vehicle the harder they make it to work on.

Help! 2014 Toyota Corolla LE….when I come to a stop my car tries to lunge forward a bit and it makes a very noticeable vibrating/rumbling sound that signals something is clearly wrong. Then it’ll go away after around 5-10 seconds of just sitting their. It just started happening and it only happens in the mornings after my car has been parked all night. I’m usually in a hurry so I’ll be going like 45 mph down the road and come to a sudden stop at the stop sign is when I notice it. After driving around a bit it goes away and doesn’t happen at all. What could this be??? I read it could be my RPM’s staying to high after coming to a sudden stop, maybe spark plugs going bad? Please help!

FYI use needle nose pliers to squeeze the coil pack electrical connector. They can get brittle and using a screwdriver will snap the retainer. Then your up $h!tZ creek.

TOYOTA doesnt make their own spark plugs. When you buy them from the dealer and open the box, on the side of the plug it says denso.

Nothing from Amazon is guarantied genuine. As with any electronic item, Amazon throws all the same part numbers into the same bin. If some scammer repackages some garbage brand as NGK or ND etc, you're now buying junk at top shelf prices. Also, with all Japanese auto manufacturers they only run right with the OEM brand plugs. Trust me, they may be 30-40% more expensive, but they will last much longer and save you many headaches.
