How to change rear suspension arm / rear control arm on VW GOLF 5 (1K1) 1.6 Hatchback 10.2003-02.2009 [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]
Suspension arm on AUDI A3 Hatchback (8P) (05.2003 - 08.2012) / SEAT Altea (5P, 5P1) (03.2004 - 2012) / SEAT Leon II Hatchback (1P, 1P1) (05.2005 - 12.2012) / SKODA Octavia II Hatchback (1Z3) (02.2004 - 06.2013) / VW Jetta Mk5 (1K2, 1KM) (08.2005 - 10.2010) cars should be replaced, as a rule, according to one and the same procedure.
However, there can be slight differences due to specific features of the vehicle design.

    Haha, 2:26 - you won't find a Mk5 Golf on the planet with original arms that doesn't have a seized bolt. And the bolt is seized into a rubber bush aluminium sleeve so it's a world of pain to get out, usually involving an air saw and a lot of swearing.

    @@Champ54 I ended up doing the same. Then took it to a local shop who pushed in the new bushing for 20 bucks.

    I live in UK and I own an Passat 2008. B6 and guys almost every single bolt from rear suspension is sized due the corrosion. I never seen that bad even when I've changed the suspension to seat Leon 52 reg.. Horrible.

    Just had the rear suspension arms replaced on my Octavia combi. Should the springs be replaced too when this work is carried out ?

    It is not necessary to change the springs when replacing the levers. AUTODOC

    I'm just replacing all rear bushes on my vw passat Rline so its easy just to replace new parts ie lower arms etc.....😊... But I'm upgrading all bushes & few bolts as it all original old parts its 10 years old..now 😎

    Hi, i have one question. Before one month i changed my rear suspension, and i noticed that the car is sitting too high in the back compared to the front. Same springs just changed the suspension. Any idea, any help how can i fix that? My car: Golf Mk5 2006!

    All my springs are same height, but definitely will sit higher on new springs. Check they are seated correctly in to the arm.

    It didn't show how to correct the camber of the wheels. If not correctly set, the tyres will wear unevenly.

    Pointless marking the washers the rear tracking was properly out b4 so need to adjust anyway

    Not really you get it as cl9se as you can then take it for 4 wheel alignment , your way is have it totally out so you have no tyres left when get there! Always mark!
