This video is about how to replace rear shock absorber on BMW 3 Series 1999-2005. This is very simple job and it takes about an hour.
For this job you will need: adjustable wrench, 13 mm socket, 18 mm socket, 16mm socket, breaker bar, torque wrench.

Shock Absorber sport suspension- 33521096366
Rear Shock Mount Bolt - 07119900402
Rear Bumpstop With Guard Tube - 33502290318

F-ing love this video
With this method, probably have to compress the new shocks slightly until they line up to be screwed back in place. I suppose one advantage of this method shown is that u can torque the nut straight away, as it is under load. The usual method, however, is to torque the shock bolts in the normal position ("Normlage"), i. e. Car on an even surface with 2 passengers (i think..)..

I used the cinderblock support method for an oil change BMW E46. Later I found out it is a very unsafe way to support a vehicle as they are designed to support a load spread over a number of blocks. I figured if a block can support 120,000 pounds I would be more than fine. I have heard rightly or wrongly they can crumble under a concentrated load. PS thanks for the video, I used it to change out the rear shocks too.
