How to Change Rear Leaf Spring Shackle Bushings on a Holden Rodeo 2008

I did this on a Holden Rodeo but a DMAX will be exactly the same and most utes I assume are very similar. You get the gist

Thanks for a GREAT informative video. Watched others which was just waffle. Been years since replaced on previous 92 rodeo, now my 2006 rodeo RA 4wd needs to be done. Just picked up greasing type from Repco all up under $150. As replacing shackles and bushes.

Be careful to jack the rear diff to a height that does not have a lot of weight acting on the shackle. If it's too suspended and the shackle wont come out easily then if can be very dangerous and spring downwards when the shackle finally comes out. Just adjust the jack until it is fairly easy to slide it out (spray with WD or similiar). Good video - time to do mine again... seems to last about 5 years

And do it with both wheels off if you’re going to do both sides which you should do and since the wheels are off you may as well take the brake drums off too and blow out any brake dust👍

Have air bag suspension under rear of my 2004 ra rodeo 2wd. Can shackle bushes be replaced without removing wheels ? Great vid, easy and no shitting around, clear vid, good job.

Great video. I found it easier not to remove the tires though. Just use your nomal tire jack and jack the wheel till its just off the ground to take the weigh off the suspection and get too it.

Jack the body though you might mean so the wheel just hangs 👍🏻

No idea how ya did that like butter, I needed to cut mine apart, plus I couldn't even get the bushings in the new ones without a press, then when I did get them in, I cut one bushing apart pressing the sleeve in it, and then the sleeve got caught on the second one and popped it out the back. Super piss me off when some one else does this kind of shit in minutes, and I'm fighting it for days.

Depends what sort of vehicle you have because some vehicles you need to use a press and then there’s ones like this vehicle that are easy, I’ll be putting in all Nolathane shackle bushes in my 1993 Ford Courier ute in the next few days that are similar to this video👌

I’m doing my 1993 Ford Courier ute rear shackle bushes in Nolathane in the next few days and my top shackle bushes are a little bit longer that these ones because my shackles are kind of dogleg shaped.
