Hold up a minute. I just changed out these rear discs without having to take off the caliper bracket. That's not really a required step and I just found it by accident. I was prepared to undo the bolts in the back and the disc shifted, after I removed the securing bolt for it, and the disc came out when I had braced to catch it. Good stuff though.

using a spanner on those hex bolts?. those bolts are rigid and u could never use just a spanner to loosen them. the bottom shocker bolt should be removed in the real world with a 3/8 power bar and 8mm Allen key with socket..

@@iangraham6730 Cheers, Ian. I reckoned that from around the time I asked 'autodoc' the question. Your reply was what I needed from them at the time, but unfortunately copper grease seems to be some closely-guarded secret of the trade: "special grease" "special lubricant" - why couldn't they just say 'copper grease' or 'lithium grease', 'red rubber grease' 'ceramic brake grease' or 'Mission Automotive Dielectric Grease/Silicone Paste/Waterproof Marine Grease'? 👍

@@ClaimOfRightMuso It's all about the 'sell' . . the less you know, the better for them ;-) I worked in a garage for the guts of 20 years, copper grease was the go-to for brake slides, actually silicone grease is probably better for the rubber dust covers sake, but I still prefer copper :-)
