Thanks. Just changed my pump out the other day. It was a bitch! And when I had it part way out, I looked up and saw a drip coming from between the hydro booster and the brake cylinder reservoir, then realized the pump isn't leaking anywhere. (damn!) So I've got a good spare ps pump, and have ordered the seals for the hydro booster. The fun never ends.

Thanks for the great information especially for shortcuts. Gotta replace the power steering box cause it’s leaking and I’ll replace the hoses that you mentioned n the belt. . Like the removal of the tire cowl.

I found out that my leak was due to a faulty o ring . The threads were all good and I saved money since I didn’t need the power steering pump after all . Do ya know where to get better door handles ? These cheap plastic ones break off to easily. I bought my truck with most of em messed up . Now I repaired my driver side as the outer handle broke but I can’t lock the door even. With the alarm. .

Hey, I came home to a puddle under truck. P/S reservoir was pressurized and I can’t turn wheel and I hardly have any brakes. What’re your thoughts? Power steering pump or something else???

If it feels like you have no power steering it’s probably the pump especially if your brakes aren’t workin like normal

@@TheOriginalGunNut hey I appreciate the quick response! That was my thoughts too. When I opened reservoir it burped and made a mess as well seemed like all the p/s fluid had went back to reservoir. Sucks but I’ll be able to do it with watching this video. Not a mechanic by any means

Hey I changed my power steering pump bc I could not turn the wheel left when stopped. That did not fix the problem. You think the hydraboost is bad?

Ac delco power steering fluid from the dealer or you can get the Napa power steering fluid , if you are on a budget atf fluid still works and will always work .amsoil dexron III is some of the better stuff to work with.

I don't understand ... in the beginning, you take out the bolts that hold the rear pump bracket to the engine block, but then you proceed to unbolt that same bracket from the back of the steering pump. No explanation why you didn't leave the bracket on the pump, but maybe you like the challenge of unbolting with things in the way? It is actually humorous to see the beginning where you say to remove the return hose from the pump reservoir, but at 5:42, you show that hose cut and chewed up - did you use your teeth? And that pulley kit - another 'I don't understand' moment. I used my standard gear puller

I replaced all the hoses going into the hydroboost and pump, so it was just easier to cut it since I wasn't reusing anything in my application. The pump is sandwiched by 2 brackets , the first set of 3 bolts is the front pump bracket which sits on the front of the engine assembly, the back is the actual pump mount bracket you transfer over to the new pump. The pulley kit is a harbor freight kit located here - www.harborfreight.com/pulley-remover-and-installer-set-12-pc-63068.html?ccdenc=eyJjb2RlIjoiOTI3Njk1OTciLCJza3UiOiI2MzA2OCIsImlzIjoiMTUuOTkxOTk5OTk5OTk5OTk5In0%3D&campaignid=17484697657&adsetid=138468915740&product=63068&store=333&gclid=Cj0KCQjwzLCVBhD3ARIsAPKYTcQtwu8rlWK5-vlINXZ7_-mu-GadOJJbk2BDh4UER7OgSHZLXsTyqzwaAjUsEALw_wcB SKU=63068, 40749
