    Great video.. Lovin' the cuppa tea comment.! Minty bike.. My YBR is 2011 with 30,000 miles and no amount of double-clutching, letting off lever then re-applying, cable adjusting, oil changing or anything else will make the gears select... Or even re-appear..!!

    Also worth mentioning to check the oil after running it for a few minutes just to make sure there wasn't any air pockets that were trapped inside. check the oil after, you will usually noticed its drop a little bit.

    Nice vid. Oil change is a doddle just need a 17 mm and an old cut up milk bottle to catch the oil in. Takes about 5 mins to do. The filter mesh looks a bit of a pullava but will give it a go next time. Mine is 2006 so has the kick on it.

    greg evans if it's not that much I personally wouldn't worry about it, I've seen oil residue in generator cases before, but it's probably just built up over time. Clean it out and keep checking the oil level, if it drops and/or the battery isn't charging again (I'm presuming that's why the stator needed changing) it might need further investigation.

    How often should the screen be cleaned changed. I have a 2008 model and it is not as simple to remove the footrest and access the cases as it is with your model. It appears that the break pedal and stand need to be removed. I really can't see me doing that for every oil change.

  • @ngraphic

    @ngraphic

    10 жыл бұрын

    I would give it a clean every time you change the oil as I would change the filter if one was fitted, I don't think I'm alone not having that opinion. I don't think the design of the brake pedal and footrest has changed, just give it a wiggle, the kickstart peddle would also be required to be removed.

    This vid is good and very bad. He completely skips over the fact that you can brake/damage the clutch gasket which happened to me. In fact, you notice the video cuts/skips past both the actual removal & replace of the clutch cover? I should have trusted my instincts when the vid failed to mention/warn about this. But hadn't taken an engine apart in years so just assumed that was something you only needed to worry about on cars... turn out not the case. A combustion engine is a combustion engine. Did as he did in his vid accept my Gasket came off and wouldn't go back on perfectly - and you don't see this part in his vid due to editing makes you wonder what he edits out. So now have an oil leaky bike thank for this rushed/cut vid that skips over some very important issues.

    @@ngraphic Sorry for the delay, real life and all that. No! It's not, your making stuff up to cover your cock-up. In fact, you can clearly buy a clutch cover gasket for the 2013 YBR from wemoto.com ( www.wemoto.com/bikes/yamaha/ybr_125/13/picture/clutch_cover_gasket ). You can also find in Haynes YBR 125 and Custom manual 2005 - 2016 - Page 2.27 - 15 Clutch Removal - Step 5 clearly states removal of the gasket. The 2013 YBR is the same as a 2010 model. To be blunt mate your full of it. IF you did get away with not changing the clutch cover gasket is because you got lucky as you removed the cover before your bike was even a year old it's a 2013 bike and the vid was filmed in 2013. You got lucky your video is BAD take it down or update it take responsibility for your error and stop spreading misinformation and allowing a bad video to do more harm. Look an update to cover the clutch gasket is all it needs otherwise it's a nice little video. BUT missing out on the gasket is a critical mistake that can lead to damage to the engine, not to mention lots of leaking oil - which is not only dangerous to you, other rider/drivers, it also harmful to the environment. Sort it out.

    DONT DO THAT guys no need to touch to the oil filter everytime you do the oil change ! Firstly you don't show us how to disassemble the kick starter mecanism wich cost a ton of time more than necessary. Secondly you don't show how to disassemble the lateral crutch wich is a fucking pain in the ass. Thirdly you don't show that you have to disassemble the muffler to be able to remove the carter ... I don't know if you're a garagist or not but if you're not stop making video or do COMPLETE video because thanks to you i find myself in a shitty situation and it tooks me hours to realise a oil change that should have took me 20 minutes.
