Hey man great video , do you have to remove the statue cover ?

Broken Sprocket not confident like you lol I’ll ruin something on the bike lmao
hola podrias compartir el manual que tienes de esta moto
So how much oil do I use
Another great video... Question though: The owner's manual for my 2019 says the gasket on the magneto cover drain bolt should be replaced with every oil change. I also don't get the impression you replaced the gasket when you re-installed the magneto cover. In your opinion, how important is this? Thanks again...

I have re-used the same gasket at least 6 to 8 times now and it's never leaked. But if it's damaged replace it.

That makes sense to me. I just wanted to hear it from someone who knows what they're doing. I'll keep a couple new ones on hand just in case. It's good to keep in mind the manufacturers always write their guidance with the intent of minimizing potential liability. Again, thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge as well as the super-fast response!
Great tutorial vid mate. It’s a pity you have to remove the stator cover to inspect all filters. Never had to do that on any bikes I’ve owned.

Thanks mate I only check that filter if the other screen filter has stuff in it manly did it for the video.
What is the clear bottle at the front of the motor I have the same bike what's that for??

Radiator over flow
I would probably only check that stator screen if I saw a lot of debri on the long pre filter. Or if I was into the stator for other reasons. Maybe like every 5th oil change unless I see metal or fibre shavings on the other filters or stuck to the drain plug.

Thanks mate its not that hard all the time I don't always do the filter behind the cover.
Does anybody make a stainless steel filter for the RMX? I know people swear by the paper filters, but I've run the same 2 stainless filters on my '01 EXC520 for almost 20 years. They work great. I had to change cases on my '01 for a non oil related matter. Bad auto-decompressor nut broke off and killed my cases. KTM redid the design flaw in '04. Too late for me. As I was tearing down the cases my wife remarked that the cases sure looked clean inside and asked what happened to the motor. No gunk or grime. I had also just run regular Mobil 1 for years with no clutch issues. Stainless worked for me but run what you feel. Great video. Thanks!

I haven't looked for one but I'm sure you can get them. You got your $$$worth out of your one.
My RMZ 05' doesn't have bolts at bottom, manual says i need to take off 3 bolts off at somewhere near magneto cover. Can manage to find only one that looks oil drain plug. Also thanks for the videos!

@@BrokenSprocket yea but those 3 bolts at side look like they are too small To be for oil draining, sorry for bad english :D
likely running low on oil. Fill oil to spec listed. Bike needs to be ran to get oil in the filter housing before a correct level can be seen at the oil check bolt. Even then, its fairly inaccurate as oil will get trapped in other places.
Just did my first oil change...electric start wont work now. Is this due to a spacer/washer in the wrong location?
