Whatsapp chats I prefer backup through whatsapp itself because your images can get lost. For game, you probably might get it backed up.

No it won't create bugs mostly. There might be chances that some sensitive apps might force close but then you can delete the data of that app and it will be fine again.

Wonderful information bro, but this method only works with twrp recovery. I don't have twrp installed due to non compatibility. So how do I switch roms without losing data & root. I m using OnePlus 7pro

You should first go to wipe and then slide the slider and then install a new OS from the recovery.

You should always transfer it to SD Card for safety.

flashing multiple zip files (for e.g rom + gapps ) might cause lengthy 1st boot ... Flash rom zip file only then boot ... power off .. boot to twrp ... flash gapps afterwards

No. Migrate can only make backup zips for the installed apps. All the images and videos would still need to be backed up manually.

Migrate supports oramgefox too. Yes, backup in SD Card. Yes you should delete Data, cache, system (and vendor if you are shifting from miui to OSS based rom, else no need to delete vendor)

Because you might get your internal storage encrypted and then the backup would be gone.

Nah it doesn't work with payment apps. Unlike WhatsApp data of those apps isn't stored in device storage

Hello Saurav thanks for all this informative video. My question is I have Redmi note 8 pro which came originally with china ROM and I just flash it to global ROM but bootloader is unlocked. Is it advisable to locked the bootloader, will it brick my phone. Some one advise me to flash to Indonesia ROM and locked it. Please give details advise and guide on this cos if my phone brick there is no Mi store in Nigeria to help

Never lock the bootloader because if you do, and your phone gets bricked (which miui is very popular for), you'll not be able to get it repaired or be able to self repair the software. And since you don't have a service center in your country, it would make your phone unusable. So, NEVER LOCK IT.

For roms, you have to do a clean install but this can help you get the apps back yes.

my device is poco f1 and currently I am using oos gg build but in setting it shows allow bootloader to be unlocked but I can boot my device into twrp is their any problem with my device can I flash different custom roms like pixel ,havoc etc without any error because in my device (pocof1) its showing allow bootloader to be unlocked??? And how can I check my device bootloader status is unlocked after flashing custom roms??

If you try flashing the rom, if your bootloader is locked, firstly you'll not be able to flash the rom. That's the biggest catch. However if you doubt that much, why not turn on "unlock bootloader" option?

You can flash the rom on top. But that might break some things but still it's worth it.

I had a problem with migrate helper, it says "make sure you have root" I have my backup but can't restore. Everyone says it worked, that means it's a problem with my device, nice job and video, keep it up :)
