How expensive is the clamp and wrench set you're using? And if available online or on Amazon, can you please post a link to it? I'm also trying to open a Caravelle watch. Pretty sure the back is a screw on and not a pry off because it has 6 evenly spaced notches around the outside for a tool like the one you're using.

Actually I got it apart without one and without scratching it. Instead of a needle nose pliers, I used a reversable snap ring pliers with tips that fit in the notches perfectly and held the watch with a leather glove in my other hand to avoid injury in case it slipped. After I got it all apart, I saw that it is an all mechanical watch with no battery, and all I had to do was wind it up and it started working. It's a model N6, not sure if it has any antique value? It was in a bag of 8 watches my father in law left for me to work on. I got all the rest apart and batteries changed with minimal scratching, and some were stuck on pretty tight.

What is the movement inside?
