I don't know if you'll see this, but if I change the image it still reverts to the same one when prototyping (i used hover and it showed the original one). Do you know how I could fix this? it's such a common problem for me too

Not sure I get it... but the image layer has the same name for both of you component variants? This video may help: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fnmB06mdcc7ggJM.html

it works nicely in the initial variant but if I want to make a hover variant and change the picture's behaviour (darker, bigger), it shows only the first picture placed in the hovered behaviour when I run my prototype..

make image fill one in both normal and hover and make sure its in same frame, to make it darker just add another frame on top of it in both again and make it black and have 20% or 40% transparency and for bigger one just change size of the frame.

@@MarkWhiteartist this is 3 months late but there is a hack around it, you have to put the image from the fill option, so download the image as PNG and manually choose it

Figma needs to make this more intuitive. It shouldn't be this complex. THX!

This is so unintuitive! How do you move and adjust the image that's just been pasted into the instance??

The image will take the object container space. If you want to edit the photo you can click on the fill propriety with the image and change to crop, fit or whatever you need. (If you keep clicking the image it will pop the same menu as well).

    It's cmd+option + C it's not cmd c, this tutorial is wrong!

  • @waffletube5707

To be clear, on mac, cmd+option+C to copy source image fill, and cmd+opt+v to paste with image to be replaced selected (you'll see your cursor turn into the double arrow/duplicate icon when you're doing it right). The only way for me to get this to work. It's kind of insane how unintuitive this is. 12/25/2023
