Me too but then I realised I park my car on a public road, under a tree which drops sap, leaves and bird shit on it 😔

Then run through an automated washer and destroy the ceramic coating (which the majority of my customers did after they were warned not to do so) 🤦🏻‍♂️

@@teem5642 I used a spray wax or enhancer as I dry my vehicle. Apply in 2’ sections, in the shade with clean microfiber towels. Give it brief buff, turning the towel after each application for even coverage. Don’t allow the most to dry on the paint surface.

@@teem5642just wash the car with a high quality wash and wax soap then ceramic detail spray. APPLY ON PAD FIRST then put it on the car and wipe with a microfiber towel. Dont spray the detailer on the car first very important

Hot tip....use the iron remover as your clay lubricant, because it's also removes limescale. This will mean you use less iron remover and get get a better result.

Whatever you're charging for your service it's probably not enough. Excellent 💯

The only reason I don't clean my car to the point where it looks like a new one is because of some a**holes living in my area, who would scratch nice looking or clean cars when you have parked in a public place and leave your car unattended...

In my opinion that is 100% how it's done you can't get any more perfect prep than that. Only thing guys look at the paint carefully to to determine if you need a compound or if a Polish alone will do the job

I was just about to say that it may not always be necessary to compound heavy cutting, and always if possible try to check the thickness of the paint. No hate or anything he done a mighty fine job. Just not every car needs the heavy cutting.

Depends on the paint, you can get away with a heavy compound on most German paints, even black!

First it depends on the state of the car. You can ceramic coat a car with just light polish

ever tried a synthetic decontamination towel? way more surface area than an actual clay and it wont scratch like clay with proper lubrication .

​@@ohboy2592for 99.99999% of people the amount of clear coat you remove is completely irrelevant. You could compound and polish at least 20 times before you're even getting close to causing a problem. Reality is unless you're wet sanding you're removing an imperceptible amount of clear and although clear coats are getting thinner it's still not relevant. We should be telling people the truth that they aren't going to hurt anything so they feel confident enough to do it. I can understand that detailers don't know the vehicles history and have to be on the safe side but it's getting ridiculous in the industry this fear of removing too much clear coat. Unless you fall asleep with a DA on the paint you're not going to hurt anything.

Negative ghost rider. That active ceramic ingredient bonds almost immediately to the surface. What you’re wiping off and removing is the liquid ‘carrier’. This is not your grandpas car wax we are talking about.

Is it worth it for white vehicles as well? I just purchased beautiful White Lexus RC 350 but don't see many if any detailing videos on white paint

Yea due to the fact it takes 10-13 hours to do alone (heavily depending on size and shape of car), most of that cost is working hours and maybe $150-200 worth of products. If I were to have a detailing business I wouldn’t charge less than $1200 for a job like this otherwise you aren’t making much money. Also depends on area and cost of living.

Does rubbing the iron remover into the paint cause scratching from rubbing loose contaminants into the paint? Just wondering, I’m sure it’s little more effective in removing the iron though

It is likely that this method will cause micro scratches. But, the purpose is to remove all contamination ready for the first stage of paint correction. It's not recommended to start paint correction before completely removing all contamination, you will ruin your pads too. Any marring or swirls caused by the decon stage will be removed in the paint correction stage

Then 2nd spray down I’ll rub/wipe after majority of contaminants are off. Cuz some people just do a spray wax, but still want decon. Don’t wanna return the car more scratched

​@@t.f.3305 Ceramic coatings are better than wax for many reasons. One of them is that ceramic coating doesn't attract contaminants like wax does. They also have a better hydrophobic effect than wax or sealant and leave your paint with protection but without the additional color altering properties like wax. If you're paying good money for ceramic coating, why would you use an inferior product over it? If you really want that extra protection, pay for a good one, wash your car properly every week, follow the instructions and if you really want another layer, use a maintenance ceramic spray.

Then 2 days after you have done this, it rains and all the dust and crap in the rain settles on your car. When it dries you have a car covered in dust spots so it's time to wash the car again!! Repeat.

Too much efforts..

Get it done professionally... consumer 'ceramic' car products are difficult to work with, especially on a black car/truck. Or simply wax your vehicle every 3 months... it takes less than an hour, it's inexpensive, and it protects the paint.

@@keithmichael5839 I have used turtle wax hybrid solution ceramic spray wax and their seal n shine. Both are easy to apply and offer great shine and protection. I like the UV for summer. I think a good carnuba wax is hard to beat on shine though. On daily drivers I got a good 9-11 months of protection. Literally spray one pump per panel, wipe off and then buff. Took me 10-15 minutes to do my truck. Both of these are sprays. I didn’t believe the hype until I tried them.
