How to celebrate IMBOLC || The Wheel of the Year & Traditional Witchcraft || Wiccan Sabbats

Imbolc is the first of the wheel of the year Sabbats (if you are not a witch that is) and here is how to celebrate this with both traditional witchcraft and Wiccan ways. It is all about the Goddess Brighid otherwise known as St Brigid or Brigante in Old English. Being only half Gaelic, I want to show you not just the Gaelic witchcraft for this feast but also the traditional Anglo Saxon ways. This is ultimately a fire festival after all and the first of the year, known to christians and pagans alike as Candlemas.

Very easy directions for making Brigid's cross. One thing I like about your videos is that you always have alternatives: i.e.: if you don't have that, you can do this. Blessed Be!

I have been searching for the tradidion on 2. February here in Norway. We are far from spring yet, as I have about 2 feet deep snow in my garden, so snowdrops are still a memory. I found by reading many articles that we used to celebrate the light, as we now start to have more daylight. At Jul we have very short days, only a few hours. And spring is still far away, we have got half the amount of the snow for the winter by now, and the farmes should still have half of the winter food for the farmanimals left. So the celebration is for light and fire.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom. Happy belated birthday! Our birthdays are one day apart. Mine is January 17th. I spent the 16th up in the mountains above Tucson AZ playing in the snow. I thought of you and hoped you were also having a lovely day.

Good evening Ginny, I was wondering.. Did you talked somewhere about your story and how you found out about witchcraft? Was it openly talked about in your family? This is so interesting!

Here's been my question... how long do u leave those offerings on the Altar? & what do u do w them to discard of them?

  • @samanthasnyder9087

In my practice I discard the next day before a new offering is made. I offer them to the earth outside, to the animals spirits and fae. Under a tree or before an old rock is fine. ❤
