    When boat drifting the most effective depth for this technique within 10 to 25m max. The most critical factor to set the jighead to the seabed. Otherwise try to monitor thru the sonar whether u can attract mid level swim fish. Good job Nigel !!

    Hi, we have tried the Gomoku Soft Bulky Rings on Barramundi and Mangrove Jacks but never specifically on pond-stocked Trevally so we can't really say what techniques will work best. You may wish to give it a try and experiment a bit to see what retrieve or technique will get them to bite in the ponds. Do let us know! :)

    I got a question,how can we use such light weight lures when the current is stronger,it'll take forever to reach the bottom

  • @RapalaSoutheastAsia

    @RapalaSoutheastAsia

    7 жыл бұрын

    Hello! The current has to be just right to be able to fish the soft plastics effectively. Too fast a current and it will be difficult to get it to the right depth where the fish are holding. Some tips that might be able to help for midwater holding fish: 1. Use thinner diameter line to reduce line drag in the current. 2. Use a heavier jighead. 3. Anchor further upcurrent. Sometimes you may not need to let the jighead reach the bottom too if the fish are holding in mid-water. You just need to get the lure down to where the fish are holding and hold the rod steady with bail arm closed. Bites will come as little nibbles so you got to be quick to set the hook. Hope these little tips help.

  • @RapalaSoutheastAsia

    Hi Tarry, an ultralight rod like the new Rapala Vespida costs around SGD160 while a reel with a smooth drag like the Luvias (which features Daiwa's ATD) will cost around SGD290 or so. Plus line, lure and jigheads you're looking at about SGD500+ for a very nice setup like what Nigel used. That said, you can always use a lower spec setup that matches your budget. It can still catch you the Sagai on micro soft plastics :)
