At 24:00 Billy the Greek describes an experience where the bunker from his live well were being dropped by the bass. That was likely because when live baitfish are caught and placed in a livewell, they become stressed. When that happens, they begin to emit excess waste, which results in an ammonia buildup, usually resulting in the livewell's water becoming clouded. Not only is this deadly to the fish if not controlled, but it will ruin the baitfish's scent and taste and thus repel the gamefish you're after. You need to change the water in the well often, but the best solution is to fish live bait as soon as practicable.

It was Labor Day weekend 10+ years ago on LBI in Beach Haven... We were next to the jetty & caught nothing all day... At 6pm an old timer wheels his surf cart over & puts like 4 clams on a #10 circle hook. Lobbs it over in front of the jetty @ nearly a dead low tide. It was like a softball size of clams... 2 min later his pole is being yanked out of the sand... He hauls in a 46" Bass. I made a fist and stuck it in the fish's mouth and did not touch the sides.. It was crazy.

Mr.Poseidon Hi ladies Gents and Billy the Greek 😁We all understand wanting to catch fish and the big one, I mean I love it! But let’s never forget its all about the company also! Friends being out together. Telling stories, beer ,laughing, beer, reminiscing on old times, beer lol. You guys get the picture. The fish will come the main thing is to have a great time! What’s a better day spent fishing with your son or sons. Your daughter or daughters. Your wife, your girlfriend or just you and your buddies! I mean it’s great and if you do catch fish or the big one that day, what a party it becomes! Even if you're alone which is where I find myself most of the time 😁 Have fun fishing guys and Thank you so much Billy for this GREAT informative video!

God damn, I'm not even halfway through this video but the things you've touched on are so freaking HUGE! This has definitely given me more confidence in my approach. Being a Snook guy from Florida, I've had to adjust some things but I'm definitely heading in the right direction. Awesome explanation and your mentality is one that has been lost because of laziness! 🎣😎

Great stuff Billy, awesome info. I don't know if you remember me. I ran into you one summer night at 3am about 25 years ago maybe 1995 walking the beach at field 6 or tobay I think. I was the guy who just moved from calif. We were talking the difference east coast striper vs west coast striper. Glad to see you're still heavily into it.

This good stuff. I live in SLO County CA, and we actually have a decent striper population. I didn't fish them as a kid, but after seeing some of the monsters while diving I'm getting fired up. I guess I've never thought of them like other bass, because I can anything else in the ocean or lake, but never seem to hook striped bass.

Bravo re ! thoroughly enjoyed listening to you ! a lot of what you said applies to any body of water, I am on the west coast and we have stripers, but they're smaller and less in numbers than east coast, never caught one just started surf fishing, I've being fishing all my life, Grew up in southern Africa immigrated to the states 33 years ago and what you said about hunting for fish and looking at patterns of how fish feed applies to all waters fresh and salt ! will be looking at more of your vids !
