How to Cast a Ring Out of Silver, Copper, or Gold!

In this video I show the process of casting a ring. I use 999 fine silver in the video, but you can cast a ring out of copper, gold , brass, or any other material using the same process. I use delft clay to cast the ring and I melt down the silver in an Electric Furnace. If you are wanting to learn casting a ring from start to finish then this is the video for you! Casting a ring at home is easier than you think if you follow the steps correctly. I am getting better at casting and I think that I will try other materials in the future. Casting a ring in gold or casting a copper ring will require more heat. If you are casting a wedding ring then you will need to take more time on the mold to get it correct. I hope that in this video of me casting a silver ring I can help teach you the ways! Here are links to some of the items that I use in the video:

I found this video much more interesting than just plain silver stacking. I believe your problem was you didn't have the ring level in the clay when you pushed it down in there. Also you poured a whole lot more silver than you needed to. Last, you need your clay packed even tighter than you had it. Think about using a smaller/thinner drill bit and I'd bet money it comes out way better. I'm glad to see you branching out into another hobby or for a small business money making idea.

Budget Bullion Stacker yes sterling is pretty much the standard for silver jewelry. I work with 999 much more than the normal person so that’s why I cast this one that way. it’s not super practical because it will get beat up but that’s why I didn’t spend to much time getting it perfect 🤷🏽‍♂️🔥🐉

I know nothing about silver pouring, but as usual I won't let that prevent me to throw in my two cents; maybe a small breather vent on the opposite side of where the molten metal comes in might be a good idea? That would give the gasses and whatnots a place to escape when pouring. As always, thanks for your effort and videos, much appreciated.

reason you keep getting pits and missing part on edges is 2 reasons 1 you do need to pack the clay alot more than what you are showing . 2 you need to add a air release hole on the back side basically what you did on the front but smaller . may want a catch pan under it
