Few years back went to cudmore when I started fishing, it was raining, sat under a hand held umbrella and a shoe lace knot on the rig. With just me and Andy on the lake, he came over had a good chat and he gave me loads of gear + advice. I then caught a roach and Andy reacted like I caught a monster carp, will always remember that day, he's got time for anyone, a truly great guy.

I am fishing over 10 years, mostly feeder. I never used clips, but recently i started look into them. This is one of the best lesson on the internet about it.

Confused doh!!! I'm right handed. What should go over my left shoulder? Is it the rod tip? I normally bring the feeder back from the 4ft drop on the right of the rod and then cast with the rod tip over my right shoulder. The feeder doesnt always go where it should though. Really like your vids lads. Thanks

ok, this is clear, but what about how to cast when you are sitting on and deep angle down to a water, and you have to use long leader like 1.3meter, and you are very limited how back you can swing, how to cast then ? i mean your leader gona hit ground grass or other obsticle and you can snap it easy :) the only way is to stand up and hold rod very high, and or use 4meter+ longer rods?

I always unclip the line and mark it with yellow color marker, if you go for carps and cast far away from the shore you need extra line for the runs. After catching a fish it takes me 1-2 casts to get on the spot again, im still new to feeder fishing and the lake where i fish got big carps and grass carps and they snap my line if i keep it clipped.

Most 4000 size reels will do the job for the majority of commercial work, maybe stepping up to something a bit bigger for longer range work.

Hold on! Now if I clip the line onto the dinky plastic on the reel, I cannot use bait-run feature any more! Most carp anglers are not sitting on a 2K rig, holding a rod with a timer set aside, they are sunbathing and rolling jo. And guess what now? The rod flies into the pond and say good bye to your tackle.
