How to Carve Tree Bark Texture - Day 11
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
There's lots of different ways to portray trees in wood carving but I wanted to slide a bit more towards the realistic side of the scale with this one. Textures are always an interesting part of relief wood carving and can really make or break the appearance of your art.

Brushing my wood now. Thank you for reminding me!

Haha no worries sir
Sharpening is everything. I’ve settled on diamond and Japanese water stones to sharpen plane irons, chisels, gouges, and knives. What do you use, Clint, other than your sharp and winning British sense of humor?

Hahaha! I dunno about that sense of humour! I use a diamond stone which is 400 grit one side and 1000 grit the other, and then a ceramic stone which is 3000 grit. The ceramic one (I think it's ceramic) cost me about £60 but it was worth it.
I've missed it if you've mentioned it but what wood are you using for this?

That's ok! I would never expect everyone to like everything I make. To be honest I'm surprised they like any of it haha
