I'm not sure if I missed Gavin's explanation, but for those who want to try this, setting your camera/lens to manual focus and focusing on a spot in the room where the dancer will end up, is an effective way to get the flash exposure sharp.

That “oops” first curtain sync looked really cool too! I like that you showed this, because it teaches about rear curtain sync, and about how you can even be creative with the first curtain sync as well!

Sophie did a great job working within the limits of the room! I can only imagine what she could do with a large space!

Indeed Rhonda. It was a challenge, even for an experienced dancer, to repeat dance moves over and over again in very little room.

Rear curtain best explanation ever. Clear, precise, in less than 10 mins. I watched like 8 videos before watching this. Now I know exactly how to use it. Fantastic job!

Great video! I used to achieve the same results with the old stroboscopic method. It is tedious and very technical. Gavin was able to simplify this and made it fun for both the model and photographer. Great job and results! This will definitely be my new method!
