Oktober makes a model called the Benchmark which is about half the price of other can seamers. They can do that because it has no motor... you use a cordless drill to power the unit. Tapcooler makes a less clumsy (to me) purge/fill tool also.

Oh good call cheers mate, yeah moving forwards we want to setup a permanent canning station but are still trying to work out exactly how we want it to work

Hey mate! Great vid! Can I ask you how long is the beer line attached to the gun and what's the line Inner Diameter (ID)? Thanks!

From memory this is a 5mm beer line and I gave it about 2M in length, “when in doubt run it out” always better off making the line too long than too short

Okay I’ll ask…what do you do with the spill beer in the tray? Dirty pint or water the lawn?

Hahaha definitely water the lawn! We have 9 taps of beer always at the ready, I’m more than happy to pull a new pint rather than drink a dirty one 😂

Awesome video, My main brewing buddy and I were only just talking about canning on the weekend, I keg exclusively and the biggest issue has always been going to a party and taking beer, buying it sucks when I make beer I enjoy a lot more and the way our government taxes fun, a lot cheaper as well. I have been waiting on Kegland to release their planned 8 and 4 litre PET kegs, basically big coke bottles... this option may be the way to go, do you end up wasting much beer though?

Hey mate honestly canning is pretty awesome, it’s more eco friendly than bottles, easier to carry than kegs, and you can get creative an make some really awesome labels to whack on them. Not really you loose at most 300ml to max 500ml (one glass of beer) out of a regular 19L keg once you have a return going and everything setup right, so the trade off is definitely worth it. And as long as you are letting it foam over a bit when you can the beer is protected and lasts ages, the other day I drank a lager that has been in the can a year and there was zero oxidation

@@flyingwombattv oxidation is definitely my concern; especially lighter ales, brown tints and wet cardboard flavours are really obvious.
