I find the best way to call deer is by their first name.

That long bleat is an alarm. You guys should shorten the length of the bleat. I have to manipulate the length of the bleat in order to shorten it.

Using it like that doesn’t work. Scares the deer!!! But, whatever. Do it like that if you want

Thank you for the Video. Just picked up my first RUTROAR today and been practicing.

Was out just scouting goofing around a area I was in frequently . Counted 10 does and then after doing above nice 8 pointer came out . Called him in and got him at 20 yards

If you make any of the sounds he just did here in my part of north Carolina you will just see squirrels only..may work where theres huge population of deer and huge deer but not here..you can make some light doe grunts and about half of the bleat from the can. But that long bleat from it is the alarm bleat..try only making the can do half or quarter of the bleat length and you will do good with it....please dont think bad of me or think im a know it all im surly not. Im just throwing a tip that works for me out for you guys..some of ya have way more deer to hunt and that call doing it in short bleats like i was saying could be lights out for ya..hope everyone kills a good one this season

Surprisingly, you're the second person I have read from/heard from that has warned of the "alarm" bleat, and that has told me to only turn the can about half the cycle. Seems you're on to something!

@@em6132 it makes them come in better for me.. here i have never had anything to work doing the deep sounding grunt but by doing a doe grunt it works the best for me here in western north Carolina..may be totally different in places where there is more deer to have competition,, mostly scaresb them here...my best hunting is being clean and quite i wash my clothes after my hunts in pine sol..used it lots of years with good results,, i wont lie to you because i still have been blown at..no way to ever fool a deers nose with wind in its favor all the time...i hope these things work for you aswell..will you let me know what feedback you have on the can doing half bleets in youre place you hunt? I agree with this. I would also caution about grunt calls that are too deep. Where I hunt in New Jersey almost no bucks make it to that level of maturity so I use calls not quite as deep or else I'll spook the bucks.

Never heard a deer alarm bleat....most deer blow when alarmed

You are correct sir..the can works very well. I seem to see it works best in mid Nov time frame.

Used the hardwood grunter with the doe version on post season on three bucks across a river, they heard it but they shot off fast, shame to see them all run off so fast.

I like your calls I just got the rut roar but there's not a lot on how to use it or even call with it

i used my grunt call and my bleat can!! and buck is coming to the grunt call and snort wheeze and he is looking for fight

I've noticed using Primos lil can get more reaction than my other free sounding cans.....they are basically the same but why? Could it be as simple as me and a friend fishing the same spot and using the same lure. Only difference is I'm using a bait caster and he a spin caster.

Hi Will, I have used the "can" for years- with some success (last Sunday called two bucks off does they were chasing- and shot em). Other times I have used it when I see does or bucks that will either ignore it or slowly come check it out. There is some discussion now as to how long you should let the call last. I have been turning it upside down for the full 5 seconds. Others are now saying that this is actually an "alarm" to other deer. In reality they say that a doe in estrous will only bleat for 1-2 seconds. In this video you let it bleat for the full 5 secs. Any new thinking on the subject? Thank you. Love your intensely realistic calls BTW!-Paul

Try counting to 5 while he holds the can upside down. 1-miss, 2-miss, You'll only get to 2. He's doing a 1-2 sec. call.

Hi Cannister Shot. Yeah I realized that fact after I read a blogger's comment about how he thought the "first" cans were longer and now the "original" can has a two second bleat built in. Since now the New York State DEC is talking about outlawing doe estrus urine because of fear of spreading CWD the can is all I'll have left. -Paul

I saw that video too. Genuine doe estrus is outlawed here in VA, but you can still use the synthetic stuff. I'm hoping that between this can call and the synth Doe estrus, I can get a shot this weekend. Good luck!

Try that with that can with short calls ever half hour or hour anytime especially the rut..they think a mother and fawn are around and lots of times they will come see if the doe or fawn is coming in season..theres not a bunch of deer in this part of my state but that call has done good for me..the low buck grunting scares the hell out of them here i guess its for lack of deer and amounts of big dominant bucks..not real sure
