How to Calibrate Tesla Model 3 & Y Windows in Service Mode or Manually in 5 minutes
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Learn how to calibrate the windows of your tesla using service mode or manually in this step-by-step guide. Fix issues such as wind, noise, auto close, not working or windows not rolling up all the way with these simple tips.
In this video, I'm gonna show you how you can calibrate your Tesla windows in only a few minutes. There are two methods that you can use, one being service mode, and the second is manually calibrating the windows. I find the service mode function is easier, but if you're not comfortable with going into service mode, then I recommend manually calibrating the windows as outlined in the video. If this doesn't fix the issue that you're experiencing with your windows, then reach out to Tesla, using the mobile app to schedule a service with Tesla.

Gotta love Teslas! Most things no need to bring in to the shop, the car fixes itself.
Thanks Dennis. Could have saved some time if I knew this one about a year ago.
Thanks for the tips. I fixed my rear pax door with your second method. I have to move up the window first and hold the switch for 15-20 seconds. Then move down the window and hold the switch for 15-20 seconds. That fixes the window not close issue.

Thanks, Dennis! My Tesla Model 3 passenger side window was coming down on its own when the door was opened and wouldn't go back up. Recalibrating solved the issue. Pretty impressive feature.

Tesla gave it to me when I got my car. Thanks for watching.
I can’t find the post on what steps you exactly need to do prior to running the test? I tried it a few times but it never completes. Either 90% limit stops it or scheduled charging etc stops it and I have disabled both so it could complete but never does. Any specific tips prior to entering service mode to run this test successfully while my battery is almost 10% please????
Hello, do you or anyone experience the window opening slightly and the monitor showing the door is open? Seems like it does this when the car gets a lot of water. Either in a car wash or heavy rain
I did but when run its shiws error
Great Video! Do you know if this will correct the issue of the window going down slightly when opening the door (like it’s supposed to)- but then going up before closing the door- causing the window to nearly break?

This is a bizarre recommendation, buuut, check your puddle lights (the ones at the bottom of the door that shine on the ground. Particularly the driver side one, but I'd check them all. Or if you've installed any aftermarket ones, try putting the OEMs back in. That's what fixed my window-going-up-when-closing fiasco. Weirdest. Resolution. Ever.

@@BCTeslaGuy It didn't work. Same problem. If anything, it's worse now. This seems to be a widespread concern not just for Tesla but for other brands too. I'm guessing they know the issue, but replacing 4 switches per millions of vehicles is probably expensive and no one wants that.
@BCTeslaGuy
Жыл бұрын
sorry to hear that. Sounds like you may need manual adjustments or replacement of the window regulator done inside the door. I wouldn't think its the switch. Good luck
Second solution is a tesla document handbook solution, everybody can look up that if they RTFM ;)

How did you get your wheels to show without the wheel covers?

In the wheel settings change to no aero wheel covers. This will also change the estimated range as you get less range without the covers.

The Tesla phone app has a wonderful "vent" mode where all windows go down about 1/4" and on the highway it's really nice to have the air vented like this. Is there anyway to "vent" windows while driving or on the main screen?? Anyone?

Not that I’m aware of. I looked at the options for the icons on the bottom, and there isn’t one for venting the windows, but that would be a great idea.

Apparently in the US the venting option on the phone app will be deleted due to safety issues (closing windows remotely might strangulate someone).

Sorry, but.. WHAT? Your windows should be controlled by the SWITCH, and power should be available as long as the car is active. If this is another faff due to computer overinvolvement...no thanks. Jeez...
@Muhahahahaz
Жыл бұрын
This is similar to how all automatic windows work. The window microcontroller (“computer”) needs to know 2 reference points, the fully up and fully down positions. For instance, if any gas-powered car with an auto window function loses battery power, then it will actually forget these 2 reference points, and the auto function will stop working (though manual operation should still work) The only difference with most Teslas is that they offer more advanced window features, such as remote window closing via the Tesla app, which makes these 2 reference points even more important (For safety reasons, there need to be very specific safeguards in place to ensure that a child or animal does not get hurt when the windows are closed remotely. This includes pinch sensors, as well as knowing the exact position of the windows at all times) In any case, it is not a big deal to calibrate them. Basically you just do it once (if ever), and the car will remember. The only time you might need to redo it is if the windows get replaced (in which case Tesla Service would just do it for you), or maybe if the car completely loses all power (which is actually quite hard to do - even if you drive it until the car stops moving, it still has enough backup power to keep its memory for quite some time)

@Muhahahahaz Again, it's a faff for little actual benefit. Having electric windows that respond to a switch when the ignition is on, is simple and reliable. This is another reason new car sales are dropping and older used cars are becoming more in demand.
