Hey there, I really liked the way you explained. Can you please help me choose right watts for my rooms. Living room is 10x14 sqft where I have fitted - 4 profile lights (240) half 2 in left and half 2 in right side of the fan - 1 hanging light in left corner, - 4 LED bottom facing lights (natural white) 15wt each - 1 small decorative ceiling light in parallel of fan on the rear side 22wt Is this a good light plan or I have used so many lights? Lighting is calculated on the basis of watts or lumen?. Lumen is different for same watt of different lights eg recessed COB vs panel lights. This is what I learned from several videos.

Hi, My hall dimensions are 13 x 10 feet. Is it ok if I use only profile lights in fall seiling (instead of LED panels) for illuminating all the room. I know it will look classy and nowadays its a trend also but I am worried if it can match intensity of normal LED panel lights.

For a drawing room of 10 x 10 , which panel lights would be suitable - four 8 watt or four 12 watt lights ( if we are using only panel lights)and also we don't want too much of lighting, a decent amount of lighting would do. Can you please help?

Hi mam, first of all thanks. My home construction is almost done. Everything thing you told is crystal clear mam. I just got one doubt. I wanted to give a task light(drop light) at one corner for study purpose. Now, my doubt is that.. if i place that drop light in the corner, where should I place panel light?? Can both be side by side?? If so, does that look ugly? Or shall i withdraw the plan of using the drop light in the corner. Please let me no.

Make sure in such case fan wings to be 1.5 to 2 ft always from surface light..otherwise fan rotation shewow appears on floor

I have a room which i am using as work from home, recently I hv installed the T-grid false ceiling. My room size is 10.5 x 9, by using your formula it should be 74 watt light. My question is I have good budget for lighting, can I go with TWO 36 watt 2 x 2 Light panels for proper lighting? I do lots of video calls.

Thanks for your efforts, madam. However light brightness is calculated in Lumens, not in watts. Because light can have efficiency . Incandecent lights have 7 times lesser efficacy than LED lights. SO its better to talk in lumens than wats. Watt to lumen ratio will be given on the lights too.

Yes i always prefer in two color_ reason behind it we generally use panel lights for day to day activities in which we need white lighting and cob lights are for interior highlightning purpose that are in warm white color.

So for me I need 10 surface panel lights of 15watts ? Because as per the Watts calculation in a room -- My Room size/1.25 19x10= 190 190/1.25 = 152watts So as per the above calculation I need 10 surface panel lights to light up my room ??

Mam 100 sq.ft. bedroom. if we go by your formula its 80 watt required light for room and if we go by considering footcandle and lumens formula its just 22 watt required. very huge difference. what to consider? plz suggest.

And sir lumens depend karta hai type of bulb par If you study lumens formula. It says 10 -20 lumens required for per sqft.

@@architectsworld mam right now in my bedroom i have just 12 watt LED bulb which has 80 lm/sq.ft. i didn't feel any issue with this but i think 12 more watt will be more than enough in my room. means total 24 watt is sufficient. may be we are going towards un-necessary more wattage unconsciously. the same condition we can see in malls n stores. please correct if im wrong.

No ambient lights are panel lights. Cob lights are basically accent lights which we used to create a focal point.

Same just replace natural white to cool white. But i will not recommend cool white light in home
