Much appreciation for a simple and very useful hack. This plus a 20 dollar cam and I now have backup video!

I did the mod on my 2008 g35x without Navigation. This mods worked perfect. When I put it back together the air bag light was flashing and some other lights on the dash were lit up. I was worried.... I then plugged in my code reader and cleared the codes. I also found a link on how to reset the air bag light without the use of a code reader tool. I was able to clear my air bag light without the code reader and now no air bag light on. Hope this helps

Man I didn’t realize the struggle. My infiniti has the tech package so I was spoiled I guess. We added a full Navi swap in my buddy’s g37 and it was mainly just a lot of work to pin out everything.

Did you guys just pin out the wiring only or did ya need the module too,because I’m doing this now, and someone told me knight need the whole interior control module or whatever module controls those navigation options,

So do you have to hit the auc button everytime you want the camera to show

if i do this will it show the videos mirroring my phone when the e brake is off seem to only show with the e brake on

Look for your model and year, then click the Audio, Video, and Navigation System. Download that manual and search for the "Terminal Layout". There may be a few, but look at the top right on the page. Should say "Bose Audio without(or with) Navigation". Hope this helps.

Will this work on a Infiniti G35x Sedan 2007 with NO Nav system and back camera ? Would love to do this setup ! As soon as it get a little bit dark outside you cannot see shhh in the back with those tinted window.

Vlad- great video, everything worked. But now my airbag light is flashing. Is this because the speed sensor was unplugged? Is there a fix for this?

All you need to do is install a signal inverter into the parking brake ground wire to invert the signal when you release the parking brake

I just did this mod on my 2008 g35x non NAV and made sure the battery was unplugged before starting couldn't depin the grey so I snipped it and taped it off at both ends and then took the blue wire next to it and grounded it on the same screw as you did .... I reconnected the battery and turned on the car only for the radio/head unit to go black and shut down like 2 seconds after car started... I'm hoping it's just the fuse but I'm not sure as to why cause the battery was unplugged the whole time so it really shouldn't have blown the fuse and if it did what was the cause?/ who's to say it won't just blow the next fuse I put in?

Hi Jimmy, I have the same year and model. I figured out which wires we need to cut and ground. I just did it on mine and it works! The two wires are on the long middle connector. They're the same colors as Vlad's video, just in a different position. Their both right next to each other right in the middle of the connector next to a white wire. It goes White, Gray, Sky Blue. Hope this helps!

Can I ask if you need to hit the AUX every time you go into reverse? that part wasn't clear to me? Or, do you just go in reverse and the camera turns automatically and off when you're out of Reverse? thank you..

Does your dash display still tell you when the parking brake is on? Or at the least does it still beep if you accidentally drive off with it engaged?

Works as normal. It does not effect anything, it's only a signal to disable the screen.

I have a question sir, i have a 08 G35 sedan with full navigation system. Somehow, previous owner installed an old navigation and i guess aux cable is connected to it... What I'm trying to do is install a bluetooth receiver by connecting 3 RCA to Aux female, and then connect bluetooth .... is there any way to check if aux cable is connected to the navigation ? I just want to know if the bluetooth receiver will work if I just plug in 3 RCA...

I have a 2005 G35 coupe (bought 13 years ago after high school grad) and 2008 M35. They all (G's and M's) have basically the same engine and components. Both well over 100K and running like brand new after 13 years. Besides oil change, tires, brakes, batteries, etc, i only had alternator go bad two months ago on m35. That's it! On g35, my dashboard is cracked and the driver seat is ripped in one spot but those are very very common issues. My biggest and only advise is to spend little extra and get "One Owner" "low millage" clean title , less than 75K millage car. G35 sedan will be better sounding but 5AT transmission. G37 sedan will be a bit more powerful but sometimes lagging 7AT transmission. These cars are not beating M3's, SRT's and AMG's on the streets but for the price, they're damn good cars.

Thanks a lot for the reply. In here South Korea, I heard G35/G37 needs Gallery gasket must be replaced (since all G series' gallery gasket is worn out (exploded?).... But I'm really wondering if it's really needed... it's kinda expensive ...

There are no error codes that are active so it doesn't trigger any codes. I think the speed and brake wires are just a signal to the infotainment system, not an actual communication between the computers.

Grounding the parking brake wire will keep the "brake" like lit up on the cluster which can get very annoying. I would much rather go the extra step and just click down the brake one time before reversing instead of hacking into the wiring.

On the factory setup im afraid not, aftermarket radio definitely.

You need to ground it or put a on n off switch so when you let go if brake itll bypass it just how ug is on a double din radio

sorry to dig out this old thread not sure if youre still looking for an answer but if you have nav in your car you cannot, I REPEAT, YOU CANNOT cut the speed sensor or the GPS wont work correctly

Does your car have the red brake light turned on on your dash? i just did this and everything works perfect but the dash light wont turn off

yep, aux music plays without any interruption, since it has noting to do with the camera.

The blue wire you cut and ground. Which end did you ground? The one going to the radio or the one from the car itself

When you cut the blue wire, you would ground the part coming from the radio itself. So from the plug to any ground. Hope that clears it up.

You need a power selector switch to do that. And camera switch too if you wish to add more cameras.

Just followed your videos but put a rocker switch between the speed wire instead of cutting it completely, and the speed sensitive audio still works when the speed wire is not connected. Thanks for the vids!

Not sure dude, I would think it be the same but if your wiring is completely different than I certainly would not know. Maybe try digging through forums for more info on your wiring, Hope you figure it out.

Does the break light go away on your dash ? After you grounded the wire ?

I have the AUX button, but no ports?? I just have the iPod port. What the hell... Also, can I just have it to where my camera turns on by itself when I put it into reverse? If you ground the blue wire from the plug it self. What do you do with the rest of the cut wire in the sleeve? do you just leave it?

If you have navigation, I'm not sure what wires they are. You'll have to dig through Nissan and Infiniti forums to figure that out.
