HOW TO BYPASS ANY COOLING/HEATING THERMOSTAT HACK

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Bypass any thermostat if it has a problem or if you think it’s the problem for emergencies or troubleshooting @ you note most thermostats used 24v ac harmless however there’s some that uses high voltage,. For cooling bypass connect or twist R.Y.G, together for heating bypass connect or twist R/RH,W,G together for fan bypass R,G

    Thank you! My old house has central heating but no AC and a very stupid analog dial thermostat with no separate fan control. With this video I figured out I could hook up the dangling green wire to the red and have the fan on constantly to recirculate air in the summer. This way my wall AC units act more like central air, which is a godsend for my hot upper floor during this heat wave. I will likely sleep much better tonight thanks to you.

    I appreciate this video. I have an intermittent problem with my system. The compressor fires up and then an overpressure switch shuts it down. The fan never runs. I have been able to switch the fan to the on position and when it gets around to starting I switch the system on heat and leave the fan running all the time. I called the repair guy and when he arrived everything worked properly. I paid $95 for a social visit. It failed twice today, I called the guy and before he could get here it started working again. Next time I have the issue I can try to start the fan with a jumper. If it starts, that would indicate a thermostat problem. If it fails to start, then it is a fan issue. I can probably pick up a thermostat cheaper than I can call out a guy.

    My guy!!! I've been searching for this answer everywhere. Thank you for the clarity. However you were so close to complete but left one piece of info out that I need. If we're dying in a hot house because of a dead thermostat and need both cooling stages, Do I twist R+G+Y2 together or R+G+Y+Y2? And how long can I leave them twisted and running?

  • @D2DNYAC

    @D2DNYAC

    3 жыл бұрын

    Great 👍 question 🙂 2 stages = y/y1 + y2 + G + R and you can leave them for as long as you want however if the system is cooling properly the space will supper cold 🥶 and you can potentially cause system freeze ups . So I recommend run it like this temporarily initial space is cool and repeat as needed!

    @@D2DNYAC Hmmm. That doesn't work. We get a periodic click as though it's trying but nothing else. If we remove the Y2 it kicks stage 1 on as expected. I suppose we can try doing y2 without y but I'm worried that too experimental. Don't want to damage anything. Is it possible that our furnace is different and only uses either y or y2 on but not both at the same time?

    Hi there, really liked your video & hoping u can help me here. I have a 20yr old Yorx Single stage furnace that 2 different HVAC guys are more or less clueless/guessing on what part to change next. Basically, it now comes down to the Control Board or a Thermostat. We had bought a Programmable thermo but 2yrs ago we had nothing but problems calling for heat, replacing less expensive parts, cleaning, etc. We now bought a Honeywell Non-Programmable RTH5160D1003 and the HVAC guy installed it and nothing happened by the furnace coming on . Note he left the job discussed. A new HVAC guy came over and put in the "OLD" Programmable Thermo back in and the furnace came back on but note that somewhere in the furnace is other issues! Do you think he just didn't program the New Non-Programmable thermo the right way or it is just a dud? Note: He did have to look @ the manual but didn't look at the most important pages in it (up to pg 14) . We definitely want to use the Non-Programmable thermo for several reasons if it actually works! As I was told that our furnace is a Stage 1 non-efficiency. We also have a Central A/C unit outside on the ground but we definitely don't want to use it !!! (period) On your wires u show a BLACK wire but we don't have that. Red, Green, White & Yellow. We just want to use a simple thermo to control the "HEAT" from the thermo/furnace. Hoping you could give me some advice on these issues. Thx much for your time and knowledge.

    @Todd Rhine where are you located? It’s hard to say if the new thermostat is a dud! This thermostat will work with a 1 heat 1 cool conventional system out the box, no adjustments needed, plug and play of wired correctly. When the heating failed! What symptoms does the furnace gives?

    @@D2DNYAC Well, for right now whatever the HVAC guy did to the furnace yesterday it has been working so far. He was next to it watching/listening to it for quite awhile also! But my concern now and again is why the non-programmable thermostat wasn't doing its job as you say no adjustments needed, plug and play. I believe the HVAC guy wired it right and it had brand new Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries installed. All digital readings showed up correctly also. Like I also stated I have a 4-wire system to the thermostat. Red, Green, White & Yellow. I still would like to switch out the thermostats to the T2 Non-Programmable RTH5160D1003 if it's possible. What does the yellow & white wire on my unit used for, also? Thx much for your time. I did subscribe & thumbs up to your video.

    Having a hard time understanding this but I'll have to watch again. I'm in an apt bldg, we have a digital Samsung thermostat on our wall inside the apt. When we first moved in we were able to get it down to 65 degrees in the Summer. Then at the end of the summer management reset something & I was no longer able to program it any lower than 68 (which in here gets VERY hot in the dead of summer). If I press the arrow to go down it sends up a message saying it's "put of range". I have no idea if it's a wifi system or not, I know the model # is MWR-WG00UN, they have large central air hvac units outside....been trying to find a hack to get into this system so that come next summer I can get it below 68 but have yet to figure this Samsung thing out. I suspect they have some kind of master remote or something where they can control the temp. They originally told me going below 65 would freeze everything, a few weeks later then said anything below 68 would freeze everything, they kept changing the number every week. I pay for the electric & I pay the hvac bill both separately , I really need to control the temp in here come the summer.

    @@DJV94022 thank you, that's pretty much what I thought. Since my original post I told the apt manager I would be getting a mobile ac unit which has a tube that vents out the window. I was told we're not allowed to have those. I have a lot of windows but I'm only able to open some of them, 3 of them don't open, they literally have no mechanism to open up. I've been able to finally get them to allow me to have the ability to go down to 65 if needed. It has yet to freeze anything up as I suspected. The bedrooms do not have AC but the rest of the place is now at least somewhat cooler

    question for you. I have already 2 T6 replaced because they went bad. so, that's the 1st question. isn't Honeywell a mega super technology company to create since a light switch up to NASA equipment for the thermostat to go bad (2) in less than 6 months? is that common that 2 T6s go bad so close to each other because they are not cheap at all! I'm so disappointed with this product. and 2 question is. when this went bad the AC tech said it was just the thermostat for AC cooling since it was hot summer in Florida, it got replaced and booom! it worked! so, he said that the thermostat was not doing something to make the reversible valve work and it got stuck in the heat mode. so... if this is true, how the valve get stuck if I only see this on and off wires which in this case would be the red and yellow and green to power the Ac and the fan respectively. it looks cool how the thermostat is just a multi on-off switch which make life simple but at the same time there's no control for this valve according to the wiring. just live/hot wires. just do not make sense having a dedicated wire that makes the reversible valve work, or...the guy was only BS lol. pls explain! thanks
