Thank you so much I'm still saving for my first instrument ever in life as an adult learner I've been wanting to play the viola 5th grade and but family couldn't afford it got to try during my undergrad where I got to rent the instrument for a semester and I cried when I had to give it back needless to say yes I'm an adult now but want my own

Yes I had the same experience of renting and then very painfully having to give it back! Have a look at the more recent Chinese instruments. They’re a lot cheaper but can be of a really high quality x

Octagonal is reputed to have more lateral stiffness ergo more power. I HEARD THIS RECENTLY. THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDIO!

You’re so welcome ☺️ yes a know a lot of players who prefer an octagonal bow for that exact reason

I was taught by a violist! So any gains I make on violin are due to a violist. Ilove the viola sound so powerfull and gutsy!

Yes, a cello bow is shorter and heavier 😊

What is your impression of J. J. Augeneurr? Bows?

I don’t have personal experience of those bows I’m afraid

By. The looks of it you have a perfect bow hold I find no faults with your perch.😅
