How to build this action figure diorama full size (
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Action figure diorama full build video. This will fit inside a detolf display case. I was going to make a step-by-step video but decided to just leave more of the footage in and speed it up.
The main material is xps insulation foam board cut with a break away blade and a hotwire table.

Man that 1/2 inch looks way easier to work with than the 1 inch I find. Great work as always!

It really is a lot easier to cut, but variety is good
Amazing! 👏

I liked it and I subbed!
Excellent work, I only have one question, what kind of material is the gray color that you use paint?

Not sure I understand, it’s mostly xps foam. The paint is diffrent brands of craft paint, folkart, Americana, craftsmart, etc.
amazing work. just finished my first diorama using many of your techniques and live the way it came out. was wondering how you did those pillars you added in the end? looking to do a Egyptian theme for my moon knight action figures next.

Thanks and that’s great! I used a Hotwire table and a circle cutting jig to make the pillars but you can do it many ways.
Ever try a dremel , roto tool for engraving the grooves for bricks ?

@@randomdiorama just curious. Going to put something together. Cutting foam .. not sure if you tried hand fine tooth wood saw .Old school type . Flat stiff blade for straight accurate cuts with decent smooth cut edges.
This is fantastic, you make it look easy! What kinda foam board do you use? Sorry I have no ideas where to start.

Awesome video!! Will try it out as well, I’m familiar with the foam thanks to my old Scenery making for table top games 👌🏻 Maybe a stupid question but 1:12 is most common action figure size right? I have several figures of Batman TAS I’d love to display on an awesome diorama piece.

Thanks! I also started this because I used to make wargames stuff long ago. Yeah the 1:12 is the most popular size these days. Go for it 👍
Love the content! I've learned so much. But I have a burning question. How do, or how would you make or add vegetation to a diorama? Things like vines, bushes, shrubs, rocks, and stuff you would expect to see in a jungle or rainforest? Would love to see a video on that, a reply would work just as good though. Thanks.

Thanks for that. Maybe I'll do a video one day. There are many products to add vegetation like flock for moss or grass, and different bushes or clumps of grass as well. Some of it can get pricey. There are some diy hacks you can search up as well.
Awesome technique! Do you apply a dull coat or any type of sealer after painting?? I often find it ruins the finish

Ty! I do use modpodge sometimes but like you said it makes it a bit glossy no matter what so sometimes I skip it.

@@randomdiorama I’ve tried many different brands, Tamiya, Mr. Super Clear, and so on… and it always ruins the finish. No matter how premium of a brand it is. I think it’s best just to wait a couple of days for the paint to settle fully instead of ruining the finish!
Where can I find the foam boarding? I looked at Michael’s but did not see anything like it. Thanks

It’s insulation xps foam from homedepot, comes in big sheets. They also have a similar product in blue at lowes.

Hi great video specially as I am bit newer to the build scene. PS- can u tell me please about the ruler yr using. It looks pre-marked. Thankyou. Cheerz for now. Denise W.A.

Thank you. It’s a westcott graph ruler, I use the 18” and the 6” a lot. Very handy for marking and being able to see right through it but I also use a metal straight edge for guiding the knife. Good luck with your projects!
