Nice job... I did the same thing with an old set of front forks that had been disguarded. Almost identical to your project. Works great.

the FEL bucket on my tractor is removable, so I purchased a set of forks and installed them on the tractor (the bucket and forks switch in less than 5 minutes), then slid a pallet on the forks and fastened a 4 x 8 x 3/4 sheet of plywood to the pallet, installed 2 x 4's around the edge of the plywood to keep stuff in place, this makes a very functional carryall. this is much easier than removing and installing a ph digger on the 3 pt hitch.

Put a barrel pick on your loader. Very easy to use and can put the barrel anywhere you can drive. Don’t have to get off tractor to attach barrel or release

Curious...Where the steel welds together how come you angled the angle iron out and not overlaps the angle? I looking at building one and just though it would be stronger.

good video. But you may wish to keep the cover on the PTO output shaft as yours looks like it has been subjected to a copious amount of mud , dirt and grime. New covers are cheap and will keep the grease and oils on the shaft clean and ready to use.

This may be obvious to others, but I am new to 3 point hitches. How do you secure the bottom 2 pins in place? Thanks for the great video.

Let me see if I follow what you mean- if you make your carry all, you drill holes near the bottom and put what's called a lower link pin on each side- www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/countyline-lower-link-pin?cm_vc=-10005 then you put the arm of the tractor on the pin and secure it with one of these- www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/countyline-lynch-pin-7-16-in-s070901tsc?cm_vc=-10005

That makes sense now I see there are a couple of nuts on the the pin that hold it to the carry all. I couldn't see how the pin was secured to the carry all. I think that answered the question. Thanks for your time. Excellent video by the way.

How was this able to lift up to be even with the back of the pickup? That truck looked pretty tall.

About $80 in steel and pins for the hitch. Add a few dollars for paint, wood, and self tapping screws to finish out the carry all. Love to see how yours turns out.

Nice design! I'll be using that design as well. How has this held up for you over the years? Also, have you used this with a quick connect? if so, how did it go?

You can stick weld that.

I don't understand why you closed off the front most carry all's have the front open so you can drive inside a pallet..mine is made of square tube its not as wide as that angle or as thick or as heavy and just as strong!! (I guess to each his own) but you did do a good job welding

Good point! I closed the front because I thought I needed strength for the flat surface. I use the carry all now for a platform to carry tools, spray rig, and other things and bought pallet forks that attach to the bucket. We felled a large tree last week and used the forks to haul the brush and the carry all for the cut to length limbs and trunk. It was quite handy! Thanks for the comments!

Good idea. But how the heck is this going to lift high enough to be even with the tailgate of the pickup to transfer the barrel from the truck to the carry all. Maybe the truck is in a hole or loading dock so the tailgate is at ground level. Naaaa.

The carryall lifts high enough to be even with the tailgate, but don't confuse that with being level. It is sloped toward the tractor. I would roll the barrel off the tailgate and on to the carryall. The barrel slides rests against the back and off we go. It wasn't an issue for me until I put 35" tires and a 3" lift on the truck. Now I have forks that bolt on to the bucket because the carry all is about 8" lower than the tailgate.

Sure- that would work fine. I chose 2X3 because it was stronger. However, using 2x2 will work, just depends on how much weight you want to carry.

The Traveling Walkers Thanks for the response. Your tractor is a bit larger than the 24hp one my family has so it won't be nearly as strained. I guess if it looks sketchy I could add some bracing.

the 2x2 should work just fine - Besides- how much weight are you really putting on there? I built this one to handle two 55 gallon barrels full of corn- about 600lbs or so.

The dog needs some welding glasses

Unrelated to the build, you may not want your dog(s) to watch you weld. I'm not sure if that is good for them.

Spends too much time talking to camera.

Instead a shop full of "stuff," how about a clean shop where you can weld on a welding table or work bench instead of on your knees, like they do in third world countries.
