Should use folding wedges each end under the arch centre to ease removal, the upright is going to interfere with the line. Good arch setting out (segmental arch).

Very nice job, I used to do this now I just pay for a custom arched lintel i know who makes the custom angle irons it works out to same price as spending your time and workers time to build it, and it’s permanent, never cracks and don’t have to take it down!

I've done a few arches with a steel lintel I don't know if it's better to prevent it from cracking because the steel expands and contracts especially if it rusts I've also done alot of restoration unfortunately and the cracks in masonry are usually because of a steel lintel or a steel column or rebar that rusted in the core of the block

Nice work bro. take the guess work out for the radius, which got your close with 83". Here's a formula i use for arches like your case. keep up the good work! x = Half Arch Width = 9'3"/2 = 111"/2 = 55.5" y = Arch Height = 22" (y*y) + (x*x) (22*22) + (55.5*55.5) 3564.25 ____________ = ______________________ = ___________ = 81" 2*y 2*22 44

Ryan. I really enjoy your channel. And trying to understand arches. So does a person just pick a random height for the arch in the center? That is the part I am having trouble with.
